Just saw the new Star Trek. Don't bother - wait for streaming. I thought it was every bit as good as the first two films. While Krall isn't near as sexy as Khan as a character, the movie itself was pretty much action from the get-go. Personally I enjoyed it and can't wait to see it in my home theater.

I thought it had lousy music score and was too dark in lots of the footage. It really dragged for me after the initial opening scene and finally got going again. Story line was OK The only real positive was the new character Jayla. She resembled (pure white hair and alabaster skin but w/o the black lines on the face) a race of soul eaters that were on hibernation ships from a sci-fi TV series. It's killing me to remember what show and who they were. It may have been one of the many Star Trek spin-offs.

WraithI can go to bed now.

My primary critique is that it was about as thoughtful as any other action movie. I had always enjoyed Trek films/TV episodes because they usually had a point to make - a story to tell. This Trek was 95% action. Not my cup of tea.

Miracles from Heaven. Not my typical action thriller but it was date night with my precious wife.
Good movie with some strong "think about it" themes!!
Loved Dr. Nurko................

Watched this last night. Long movie. Not real sure of Ben Affleck as Batman. I didn't care for how it ended, but it definitely left an opening for a sequel. Nice workout for the sub also ! Overall, we enjoyed it. Mark

It seems this movie made it to blu-ray in record time. So is it worthy of a RedBox rental or wait till HBO/Cinemax/Starz?
