Just saw the new Star Trek. Don't bother - wait for streaming. I thought it was every bit as good as the first two films. While Krall isn't near as sexy as Khan as a character, the movie itself was pretty much action from the get-go. Personally I enjoyed it and can't wait to see it in my home theater. Agree.

Just saw the new Star Trek at the cinema. After sitting through what seemed like a damn HOUR of credits, awaiting the Easter Egg - I got ROBBED - there was none! What a bummer.

My experience at the theater was less than expected. The movie STAR TREK may have been good, but it was so dark, most of the action was just not there. I think the cinema was using a less that optimal projector. last time for that theater.
Now I have to wait to see Star Trek after the BLU-Ray/UHD 4k release, where I can watch it on my own projector, and actually see the movie!! I probably have better sound as well.

So, did you like it? I would appreciate if you can comment this movie. It's interesting and about characters vs plot. Very impressive cinematography and the role has Hanks stretching out from his typical movies.

I won't comment on the movie as I don't want to cross the "No Political" talk rule we have on the Lounge. Politically I'm registered as an "Independent" in the state of Florida and don't get to vote in Primary Elections, so I feel I owe it to myself to be as educated as I can, no matter the source(yes I've viewed quite a few Michael Moore movies as well), when it comes time for the General Election.

I am not a registered voter at all... as I am Canadian and unlike states like CA I do not have an option to vote if I am not a citizen. I still have never watched Obama's America. Been sitting unopened since 08 or whenever it came out. I find D'Souza very interesting.

This was the last movie I watched. Judge it for yourself

The Wave Foreign disaster film new to Netflix streaming. Good suspense and beautiful scenery. Not "great" but worth watching if you like disaster movies. Subtitle reading a must Bill
