At Emofest 2011 I asked Big Dan when we could expect to see the ERS sub woofers and he said that they were looking at going into production on them during the 1st or 2nd Qtr of 2012. If Lonnie is reading these posts today, perhaps he can chime in and let us know the current status of the ERS subs. We would really appreciate an update.

Well another month...still no updates. But hey...the website was totally redesigned. That's something, right?

There is talk of the whole new reference line - maybe a simultaneous release of the new speakers, ERS subs and RMC processor etc. is planned so folks can (at last!) buy a whole matching system in one go. That would be pretty cool.

Well, since another month has now come and gone, I think I have to make a decision. What do you think?
A) Wait for the ERS-212 to come out? or B) Buy a unicorn?
I'm so confused...what to do, what to do... :-0

Ramair, just do both! Wait for the ERS, but in meantime, buy a unicorn. That would be rad!

I have zero regrets getting my Rythmiks and have been enjoying them for well over a year instead of waiting with my old 10" sub which is not even in the game never mind the same league.

The SVS PB13 ultra is another option worth considering. It's equivalent to a 15"

Two more months have passed...and nothing. Not a peep. C'mon Emotiva - throw us a bone. Your loyal customers deserve better than to have to wait almost 4 years for a subwoofer. "If you make it...they will come".

If you need subwoofers, don't wait buy them now. Buy the best system(s) you can afford. When the next new products are avialable, you can decide if it's time to buy a new system. Simple.

Two more months...same result. Yup...there's a whole lot of engineering going into these. I hear they'll make pancakes for you every Sunday morning. Yipee!

Honestly, the new subwoofers are probably pretty low on Emotiva's new product introduction priority list. There's the XMC-1, XSP-1, XDA-2, and numerous power amps that need to get into production.
If it were me, I'd be looking elsewhere for a sub - SVS, Hsu, Velodyne, Rythmik, and plenty of others make some very good subs.

I personally am quite pleased on a daily basis when I hear what my dual SVS PB12-Plus subs have done for a movie experience, as well as for music. I don't believe I could have chosen a better non-diy subwoofer pair but I do believe that it could be equaled by other specialized subwoofer manufacturers such as Rythmik and the likes. Nothing against Emotiva, but sub manufacturers like SVS & Rythmik do one thing really well, so all of their R&D go into making the best subs possible, which is why I moved in their direction. I do believe, when/if the ERS subs are available they will be as good as what I now have, but I can have that quality, clean bass now instead of waiting. Just to add, I am quite intrigued with one of the latest sub ventures, Power Sound Audio, a break off of SVS.

I'm currently in the market for a ported sub and the XV30 from Power Sound Audio is on my short list. The SVS PB13 Ultra is also on the list along with a couple of others.
Just got the new sub green-lighted by my wife this past weekend so it's going to be happening soon.

Be sure to let us know what you end up with, as I'd really like to hear some first hand thoughts on any of the Power Sound subs. Wife green-lighted this eh? So what exactly did you do to deserve this? ;D
