Great transfer, very dark film, but details shine through. Simply superb audio. Story = Meh!, probably Bleh!

Last night we watched Up. The kids had seen it before, but I hadn't. It was ok. Picture and sound were of course top notch, and the story was ok, but to me the message seemed a bit mixed. I don't know, maybe it was because it took 3hrs to watch between the kids needing this and that, putting kids to bed, putting kids back to bed, etc. To me it was not one of Pixar's best stories. I liked Wall-E a lot better. Tonight, I got drug to a 2hr infomertial for advertising for the business. It was from 430-630, right at dinner, but they did not feed us. SO we had to hunt something down after, I got a short order burger which is sitting like a lump, and DW is on the couch watchin Biggest Looser. Man, I can't stand about 90% of what is on TV. If it were up to me, we would not pay for TV. So no movies tonight. I am tired, up since 5:00, I am taking some tums and going to bed.

Just got done watching (500) Days of Summer. I'm not a rom-com fan but this has enough unique storytelling and indie quirkness to let me enjoy it a lot. Plus it has Zooey Deschanel who I'm absolutely in love with; she's just so adorable. On the technical side, PQ was very good, nothing extraordinary but better than most in this genre. SQ was also good; once again nothing extraordinary but it's mainly dialogue so very little surround action and LFE but it does it have a lot of music which sounded very good throughout the speakers.

Yep I know, this is only a test for now, to see what I'm going to do; because I really want the EE, and I would rather avoid double dipping. ...Can you tell by my username? But if I find a good deal for this set, I might just go for it. Usually I always find good deals, so double dipping ain't too bad. ...Avatar's coming soon too. But very true, I'm HUGE fan of The LOTR Trilogy, in particular the EE (Extended Editions). It is my top favorite Trilogy of all time. ...And then, I also love "Once Upon a Time in the West" from Sergio. "Once upon a time in America" as well. Cheers, OUATITW

WOW! WOW! WOW! Last night I did check "Law Abiding Citizen". Luv it to death!
The concept (storyline) is a bit over-the-top, but who cares, it's a movie right?
Picture quality on Blu-ray is great, Audio is FANTASTIC with POWERFUL Bass that you'll notice right away. And the acting by Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx is simply awesome!
I just wished for more; like the complete and total destruction & annihilation of the entire Justice system, starting from Philadelphia and spreading to all the other cities from all the states of the USA, and with all its people in it. ...This is only a fantasized idea from the brains of whoever have seen the injustice in first place. See this movie to truly understand what I'm talking about, just don't make any judgement till you do so. I think you might agree...
Highly recommended!

Last night I just watched The LOTR "The Return of the King" Theatrical version on Blu-ray.
Good, but not a big difference enough for me to purchase this Trilogy on Blu-ray. I'll wait for the EE.
Facts: * Details are better on Blu-ray than my DVD EE duh. * The Sound on Blu-ray is only DTS-HD MA 5.1, and a I cannot say that it's better than my DVD DTS 6.1 discrete audio soundtrack. * There seems to be a slight yellow tinge during the entire film, that I did not noticed previously with the DVD EE (I just watched it about a week ago or so). * Again, the Audio is different somehow as you need to raise your master volume level by a good 10 dB or so; that to accomodate the stronger dynamics. Taste will be personal, but for me, I'm quite happy with the DVD EE audio.
Conclusion: I made the decision to wait for the EE, as I don't expect to watch that Trilogy more than once in the next 24 months, and my DVD EE will suffice plenty for my total enjoyment till the EE Trilogy on Blu is released. Because when this will happen, it will be the Super Definitive Version to own, with all that it entails and more... For now I got it with my DVD EE. The Blu-ray Theatrical versions simply don't cut it for me.
And that's my true, sincere, honest, humble, calculated, smart, and conclusive deduction, based on years of experience and knowledge of the world we live in at the present moment, and also with an eye wide open on anticipation of the future.
LOTR EE P.S. Oh, and money ain't a problem at all for me.

Watched The Wizard of OZ BD the other day. Great transfer and the sound was very good. I didn't listen to the mono track, only the True HD track.
I let the movie play till the very end, and there were copy right warnings in like 40 different languages. I'd never seen that before. But it was sort of fun seeing them, and noticing the similarities between languages.

I watched Sherlock Holmes last week it was great visually, audio I don't know I've moved and don't have my room set-up yet so just watched it in the living room(no speakers yet ie-wife).
Last night I watched John Carpenter's The Thing. It had very crisp visuals it is a little too reavealing for some of the effects on Blu. When they find the flying saucer you can tell that the saucer is painted onto the frame. Again can't comment on the audio. Still stuck in the living room until I unpack some more stuff.

Watched The Day After Tomorrow last night and really enjoyed it again. Great sound track and really good LFE. You know like when things start to shake, rattle and roll and you can't really hear anything then you know that that's about 16-18 Hz. Good stuff!!!!

Haha... I know what you mean. However, did you know that those low frequencies are pretty close to the natural resonant frequency of the human bladder?
Ever wonder why your viewers frequently need a bathroom break in movies that have a lot fo loe frequency rumbles? ;D
