I enjoyed "Red Cliff" too. But I couldn't decide if it was film or HD. Some of the shots just looked too polished and smooth. If the camera was listed in the credits, I missed it. Any info on that LOTR EE?

Any info on that LOTR EE? I believe there was some HD cameras, but to be sure I'll come back to you on that. And of course, many fire scenes were highly CGI created. * By the way, last night I watched the entire Special Feature "The Making of Red Cliff: The Long Road" (almost three hours long); and it was fascinating to see all the hardship and eternal problems (constant rain) all the crew and actors have to endured. ...Very enlightening and almost essential information on all the things that surrounds this film. I won't reveal anything here, but I highly recommend everyone's to watch it. -> And because of that, my appreciation for this film is taking a much higher level. ...And I will give another viewing to "Red Cliff" tonight. My vision's perspective has been illuminated under a true Light. I just ain't done yet with "Red Cliff"; there is much more to this than meet the eyes. This film was originally 288 minutes long, and has been cut in two parts, or shortened to 148 minutes for the Theatrical release. I'll have much more searching to do, as it is an important part of Chinese history. ...Stay tuned, and meanwhile I now highly recommend it for all.

Last night I watched the Special Feature; * A Conversation with John Woo: The Heroism and History of 'Red Cliff'. ...From the Blu-ray of "Red Cliff" evidently.
Did you knew that it took more than five years to finally release this film (including the writing)?!! And this was the biggest ever project enterprised by the Chinese Film industry.

Any info on that LOTR EE? I did not check for that on the credits, I'll give it a look perhaps tonight or tomorrow night, I'll let you know if I find something. Meanwhile, here's a review from Blu-ray Forum (148 mins Theatrical Version, one BD): @ www.blu-ray.com/movies/Red-Cliff-Blu-ray-Review/8781/And info on the 288 minutes, Part I and II on this 2-disc BD set (International Version): @ www.blu-ray.com/movies/Red-Cliff-Part-I-and-Part-II-Blu-ray/8746/

Last night: "The Fall". ...Incredible!, Magical!, Exeptional!, Majestica!, true Cinematic Masterpiece of exquisite Beauty & Poetry, a total Feast both for the Eyes & the Ears. ...Not to be missed, EVER! Quite a lovely film indeed! You've summed it up well.

2012... just a wee bit over the top, though I did like Woody Harrelson's character - I have known a few folks like him hahaha.

'Red Cliff', Theatrical Version, for the second time, but felt asleep on this one! ...Just too tired and too late also. * Anyway I want to purchase the Blu-ray 2-disc set, the International Version, running at 288 minutes. That's the Version to get according to people that saw it.

Watched Rambo First Blood.
Started it to check if I had issues with DTS HD HR, as some one posted in the pre/pro section. I do. But switched to player decoding and ended up watching the whole thing. It had been forever since I'd seen it.

Watched Apollo 13 a few nights ago, Image quality was especially good during the space journey back on earth sometimes things seemed washed out, not enough contrast. Can't vouch for the audio as I still don't have my room set-up because of my move. Although I will say that on my tv speakers things seemed muddy like there was too much midbass or low end. Sounded kind of chesty.

Just got Iron Man in the mail yesterday. My gosh, what a great sounding and looking movie. The only other time I saw it was on my buddy's HTIB system with an older LCD. It's quite a workout for the sub at times too.

Nick Cage does lines like its his job in this movie. I wish drug use being filmed every 2 minutes wasnt such a big part of this film because IMO it could have been better. great storyline but hey... maybe thats how it is out there.

I tried to watch Avatar last night but couldn't get the Oppo to play it. Works fine in the BRD drive in my computer though. I'll try again today.

Last night: Avatar. On Blu-ray of course. * This Blu-ray won't play in my Samsung BD-UP5000 (not at all)! * It took 2 and 1/2 minutes for loading in my Panasonic DMP-BD55! * My Oppo BDP-83 also took longer than usual for loading. --> This is amazing that after 4 years, Blu-ray is still at this poor stage with slow pace in loading or not playing at all some titles! ...It simply cut the experience right off from your overall enjoyment. The movie was fine though with great picture & sound.
