Wife and I enjoyed the Luther series... we equally enjoyed the Netflix movie Luther: The Fallen Sun. If you can catch the series, it's worth a watch... www.imdb.com/title/tt1474684/

Meh...this one didn't do much for me. The Atmos soundtrack was not particularly active. The story didn't excite me either. Reminiscent of the Kill Bill movies. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood? And another instance of the BD-100 disc freezing about 75% through. Sometimes it's quite a hassle to get back to the proper place in the movie. I definitely prefer the BD-66 format for 4K discs!

Not a blu-ray, I'm afraid, but rather a HBO miniseries called "Chernobyl." What it lacks in audio-video quality it makes up for in plot and character development. The science is more hit than miss and even the misses aren't enough to detract too much from the story line. Why do I know that this is a good miniseries? Parts of it come back to haunt me when I least expect them to. I've personally seen managerial stupidity and arrogance firsthand, seen denial of the severity of consequences after a disaster, and seen the all-too-human urge to find someone else to scapegoat for the inevitable blame. This miniseries gets every bit of that right, and accurately captures the governmental culture that made it all possible.
The main character (plant engineer) sums it up well: "Why did this happen? We use crappy fuel - we use crappy design - we fail to house our reactors in a containment like they do in the West. Why do we do these things? Because it's cheaper.
To be a scientist is to be naïve. We are so focused on our search for truth that we fail to consider how few actually want us to find it.
But it is always there, whether we see it or not, whether we choose to or not. The truth doesn’t care about our needs, doesn’t care about our wants, doesn’t care about our governments, our ideologies, our religions. It will lie in wait for all time, and this, at last, is the gift of Chernobyl – where I once would fear the cost of truth, but now I only fear - what is the cost of lies?"
If you haven't watched this, may I recommend it.

I don’t know which was worse…… Seeing the 92% rotten tomato rating for this awful film or sitting through it to boot take your pick. our Netflix rentals are in the thousands since being subscribers from the year 2000 and we were debating whether or not this, in fact, was the worst film we had ever seen, and we like horror and slashing flicks.

I happened to be at home alone after work and I got one of those "I feel the need... the need for speed" moments watched the original "Top Gun", 4k HDR in Dolby Atmos, at wife-horrifying, neighbor-pounding-on-your-door volume Man, this edition is serious eye and ear candy... Most likely the movie with the highest center channel energy I have ever listened to, especially during the dogfight sequences.

I bought the trilogy pack of this a few years ago and revisited last night. I love the first film the following two not as much, but the set was so cheap relatively speaking it didn’t pay to look for the single.

Friends came over last night and they wanted to watch The Pope's Exorcist... I didn't think it was available yet, but they told me it was available via Vudu; to be honest, it was actually pretty good, but I like movies like this. Various sound effects were placed very well and sounded... eerily very real. Quick update - Apparently, Part 2 is in the works. www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/1284110-the-popes-exorcist-sequel-in-the-works

I watched "Hidden Figures" again and it affected me just as much on re-watch as it had when I first saw it. One of the best movies ever!

Jury Duty Watched this miniseries about a group of Jurors going thru a trial. Only the trial is totally fake, and the jurors are all actors, except for one guy. Entertaining and funny, highly recommended [img src=" i.ibb.co/YhVJ07q/hero-image-fill-size-1248x702-v1682605677.jpg" src=" " alt="<a rel="norewrite" class="norewrite" target="_blank" href="https://ibb.co/pdkNhv9"> </a>"]

Haven't watched this for a while. Forgot how mesmerizing this is via my Sony VLP40ES projector on my 120" screen. Most 3D movies are computer derived from 2D versions and are not as involving as a result. But this one and "Hugo", which I watched night before last, are excellently produced 3D movies.

Finished viewing of Seasons 1-7 of Game of Thrones last night. I wasn't sure what to expect but am thoroughly impressed. The Blu-ray video is crisp and the Dolby Atmos soundtrack is especially immersive. Starting to watch Season 8, the final one tonight, and wishing it wasn't the end of the series. This has been pure enjoyment and unexpectedly so!
