Finished viewing of Seasons 1-7 of Game of Thrones last night. I wasn't sure what to expect but am thoroughly impressed. The Blu-ray video is crisp and the Dolby Atmos soundtrack is especially immersive. View AttachmentStarting to watch Season 8, the final one tonight, and wishing it wasn't the end of the series. This has been pure enjoyment and unexpectedly so! View AttachmentWe had watched the show in real time and probably half the episodes more than once. But watching the whole Bluray back to back with Dolby Vision and Atmos - and with the knowledge of what was to come - made it unexpectedly even more enjoyable than we anticipated. In addition to the video and sound quality ... seeing characters appear well before we remembered them, and premonitions of the future ... brilliant!

Just watched the 1080p blu-ray with a DTS-HD MA 7.1 audio track. An absolute good workout for your subwoofers!!! I've not been a fan of zombie shows/movies but I did really enjoy this movie. Picture link is to the 4K UHD-bluray that is scheduled to release this coming July 25, and was an easy pre-order decision. bluray.com shows the new 4K disc will include an ATMOS audio track, hopefully the Dolby ATMOS track isn't a downgrade from the DTS-HD MA 7.1 track and continues the subwoofer workout. The video has also been done in Dolby Vision.

An old one, but one I hadn’t seen before: Sicario. A dark movie, but one that spoke to me about how those who have ethics and morals are so ill-equipped to cope with those who have none. I see a microcosm of this in current politics…
But the final line of the movie is haunting “You should leave this place; you are not a wolf, and this will soon be a place of wolves.” In that line is acknowledgement (and acceptance) of the fact that his revenge will trigger the cartels to eliminate him and all who have helped him, directly or indirectly.

A few months back, I purchased the extended version of “ Jurassic World Dominion”, and finally the other night, we started to watch it…… There was a half hour delay though, when I became convinced that they put the wrong disc in the right package…..as the disk started to play, it appeared to be no different than the theatrical release.
The real story is not this however, but rather with all the advancing technology, there’s still someone who rolls out of bed one day and wakes up and decides how these menus are going to be set up on the disks. (or am I too picky or crazy?) It would be nice to see a greater standard involving these Blu-ray set up menus. Obviously, the more sophisticated your system the more important the set up menu is. That being said, something like theatrical release VS. extended version has nothing to do with the audio set up. Anyone who wants to play the film the way they want shouldn’t have to go digging to find the two versions, but that’s what happened here. Anyway back to the film the additions are great so far though with the 30 minute delay, we had to take a break and haven’t finished it yet part of this extended version includes a prologue that reminded me a bit of 2001. Prehistoric and no dialogue.

I watched this video and will eventually check out more of the recommendations for great Atmos. Really interesting to see the Trinnov viewer side by side with the scenes.
The surprise was one I don't think I ever watched, even though I've had the disc for three years ... the Dolby Atmos Blu-ray Demo Star Wars game video. Wow the Atmos stuff flying around is about the best I've ever heard.

Sad that the viewer isn't available as a separate download, payment required or free, either way would be nice. Kinda shocked that the new version of, All Quiet on the Western Front, wasn't in the list as it has a very good atmos track. Also wished they were't a dealer only product... kinda tired of the "dealer" tax.

I can't stand subtitles, so I'm not sure what this entails. Yes I see there is a DTS-HD MA 5.1 in English, but I don't know if I'm willing to settle.

Watched these last night.. The Batman, another one of those DC movies that I've passed on for now. The Dark Knight movies/Christopher Nolan movies were quite good, but most of the DC movies have been disappointing. Is this one worth a watch?

I can't stand reading while watching / trying to enjoy a movie; however, based on the hype around the soundtrack, I powered through it.... I then watched it in English...

If you like DC in general, then you might like this one; however, as Batman, the skinny and frail looking Pattison, in or out of the suit, wasn't a good representation of your typical "super hero" persona. Visuals, soundtrack and supporting cast made the movie...
