Just a heads up to everyone. We will be releasing an upgrade remote for the UMC very soon. All aluminum with discrete input selections. It should be here in a few weeks. ;D Does that include the USP-1? Yes, it includes the USP-1. You probably missed it, but in other threads, Lonnie has posted that in a couple of weeks (from now) that there will be a new remote control for the UMC-1 that address the code overlap between the UMC-1 and the USP-1. This "fix" for those who own both the UMC-1 and the USP-1 will automatically be sent the new remote free of charge. For those of us who bought both pieces the wait is almost over. Lonnie told me yesterday that they are thoroughly testing the "fix" right now and it appears to work flawlessly, but they want to continue testing for all possible permutations to ensure no surprises pop up. He indicated that they expect to ship out the packages to all effected owners in early March.

Wow..I'm not sure what to make of the last 4 or 5 posts. I frequent the EMO forum (and a couple of others) a lot and I don't see all these nasty, hateful comments that are spoken of. I do see some EMO haters on other forums who would never buy Emo gear anyway so who cares what they think... I do see a lot of people pointing out bugs and asking a lot of questions in general. Is that a problem?? No, not at all. I welcome input from people and if they are having issues, I would like to know. We have never turned our backs on anything we have ever made and don't intend to start now. No, what I am referring to are the accusations that something is broken without hard data to back up the claim. Accusations that we deliberatly decieved people. People demanading an immediate response to something we don't have all the information on. Demands that key personel come on and admit that it is broken or a POS. How should we take these kinds of post? To me they are quite hostile in intent and non-productive by nature. The post are out there and to be completely honest, it is not worth your time to look for them. There are plenty of good post and lots to read that is a lot more fun. Sorry, I don't mean to be a downer for anyone. I hope I didn't contribute to this with my last post (or any other for that matter). My intent was just to verify if my particular unit has an isolated defect being that I haven't seen the issue I'm having reported by anyone else. That aside, it is indeed an excellent unit. The audio quality is simply phenomenal for the price. I also would like to say thanks for all the effort you and everyone at Emotiva have put into this product.

Please, please, please, don't mis-understand. I wasn't thinking of, or referring too anyone specific. I was only speaking in general. Believe me when I say that I understand when people are frustrated, we all get that way from time to time. The OPs post just brought out somethings that have been bothering me lately, but I don't want anyone to think I was speaking of them specifically because I wasn't. So don't worry about it, were all good. ;D

Just wanted to post again (the other thread was locked) as I can understand how Lonnie feels. I've notice a big change in the forums the last month or two and it hasn't been for the better. I received an email not long ago saying I should expect to be able to purchase the unit in the next week or so and I can't wait for that day to come. Sure I've read through all the threads that are bitching and complaining about the UMC-1. Frankly, I believe most of it is user error, some of it is just not understanding what the UMC-1 is telling them (BTW, those video's explained a lot. Great job!), and of course there was the firmware issue. All in all I will be voting with my money and will finally have a processor to match up with my UPA-7.
Thanks for all the hard work and I hope you know by now how many really do appreciate the blood, sweat, and tears that went into every piece of equipment Emotiva sells.

just wanted to say ive had my UMC since 1-12... I am very happy with it. I don't have too much experience in the receiver/pre-pro area to compare it to, but it is a huge upgrade in my eyes (or ears). There is no more hiss, the bass is awesome, the customization of speakers is great, and most importantly, the SQ is way up there (especially at this price point). heres a little pic of my UMC and XPA2.

Glad you have it all figured out... When you have played with your UMC for bit I look forward to seeing your list of bugs that were simply user error..

Yes because I'm making the giant mistake of thinking that my left surround speaker is actually my left surround speaker. Thank you UMC-1 for pointing out my error. You're right, it is in fact my back right speaker. I will never doubt you again.

Yea, that right vs. left thing can be tricky! ;D When in doubt, make an "L" with both hands, and whichever one looks like an "L", is the left side!!! Or, buy a UMC-1 and have it tell you, whichever you prefer! And if you have conflicting results between the two methods, you probably just don't know how to make an L with your hands, so just go with whatever the UMC-1 says.... ;D

Why aren't I surprised with the comments related to my post. I didn't say ALL issues were user error. So maybe saying "most" was a little much, I'll admit that. I know there are legitimate complaints but there are also a lot that aren't.
