Searched trough my e-mail now and found the UMC-1 preorder confirm-mail, dated 30th Oct 09.. But noow shipping mail yet :/ When i read that ppl that signed up the day before it closed has gotten a shipping-mail..  . Well, maybe I'll go for a XMC instead.. uh oh.....I got two emails giving 4/15 as the ship date. I replied to one of them asking if it was a duplicate and now I am on the list a third time. If anyone at Emotiva is reading this......I want only 1 unit.... I got two emails today myself 4/15 with a non upgrader listing of 1/28 |

I've got a confirmation email from Emtoiva for the UMC-1 dated 29th of oct. 2009 and I'm still waiting for some kind of cc/info email. I'm not an upgrader.
I've sent two emails (to sales and cathy) asking whats going on, still no answer here either(it's been 13 days since the first email).
It really should not be necessary to give them a call in order to get an answer.
I'm disappointed.

It really should not be necessary to give them a call in order to get an answer. I'm disappointed. I believe that what is happening here is that you are an international customer. Your unit will likely require additional certifications to be legally sold in your country. It looks like you're in Norway, which I do not believe is part of the EU. I do not know what the laws are, but it could be that will delay it even further. |

I can't wait and install the UMC-1 unit. I will report on my findings as well as what my friends think.

I got an ETA email as well. April 15 expected ship date. Hopefully the bugs will be worked out or I will delay my order.
If it where me, and I do this quite often, if I don't get a response via email I pick up the phone and call someone directly. It works great

Well a lot of people are posting about problems. I didn't have any. So here goes:
On Preorder List: October 30, 2009
Received Email: February 10, 2010
Promised Ship Date: February 22, 2010
Actual Ship Date: February 22, 2010
Scheduled Delivery: Tomorrow, woot!
I might add that I only got around to calling with my cc info on Feb 22 and they still shipped that day. Well done Emo.

I got on the second list at the end of December.
1/7/2010 I received 2 email confirmations that I was on the UMC-1 preorder list.
2/21/2010 I received an email with an estimated shipping date of 4/4/2010.
I'm wondering if one of the two preorder list confirmation emails I received was intended for someone else. I got one at 2:14 PM, and another identical email at 2:58 PM. Has anyone else gotten multiple identical emails? They may have inadvertantly sent a confirmation for someone else's UMC-1 to my email address. That could explain why almost all have gotten email confirmation, while some have not.

I received multiple emails telling me that I was on the 2nd wait list. ;D. One email that says we will contact you 2 days before 4/15 to confirm CC info...

I can understand delays. We all expect perfect units with updated firmwares.
I figure I'd wait for a perfect unit, than get one shipped early that isn't functionally perfect.
Besides they aren't taking payment until a couple of days before your ship date.
That sort of shows me that the Emotiva company is trying it's best to be honest, making sure that your equipment is rock solid and only shipping them out when they are truly ready.
If that doesn't happen, you will surely find me posting some pretty sour messages here.
Emotiva is a company that seems to have pride in their products. How many audio companies have a forum where you can discuss things, or nag about things?
I looked in the forum to see what others think about their products before I decided to try the UMC-1. I think it is pretty brave of them to risk their reputation here.

not an upgade
It looks like it will be tight regarding the next FW upgrade. I would rather wait an extra week or two and get the second update.

I signed up the first day of the first list, about 2 years ago in April, and have heard nothing. I emailed them and was told soon but no definite date a few weeks ago
