Hi red5ive, the PM you sent requested; 50=2 51=3 52=2 This matches what you put in the SS. You have a row 53 with a scale of 5. Is this what you want? Please re-asses and we will correct it. Ah, it looks my updates took. I didn't see it change after 5-10 mins or so, so I figured I didn't have access to edit, that's when I messaged you. I guess it just takes a while to propagate. Thanks. You should not have edit privilege! Did you click the edit this page and change it? I will need to revisit the permissions if you did. Thanks for your feedback. I just increased the data protection so that only Lonnie can edit from their Emotiva accounts. If you can still edit please let me know.

Anyway, edit privileges appear to be gone. Double clicking in a cell no longer switches to edit mode, and the Edit menu option is no longer accessible. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

SO, it's been up a week, about 60-70 issues (some duplicates, I know). No comments at all?

Hi everyone! I received a note from Lonnie yesterday and he is catching up on other priorities but will begin to edit this list as he and his team work through their UMC punch list.
I once again thank everyone for participating and hope that you will continue to do so. Have a good week!

Sticky, please! - You'll draw more people to this post if it's stickied, and spawn fewer individual "My UMC-1 is buggy" threads.
- We'll have a better place to track issues and see what is/isn't being worked on.
- ?
- Profit! err... I mean, Win-win!
I did say please...

S&S,
Nicely done. I do not have a UMC-1 yet. I am sure that when I order one, with the help from your Tracker and the Emotiva R&D, the small bugs and naviagation problems that folks are having will be less.
We live in a very high technology based environment, there are thousands of products on the market, and each product has a specific 1 and 0 that makes it work with another. It is no wonder that equipment of all sorts is having handshakes problems.
I am impressed, keep up the good work Emotiva.

So here is another problem I found.
My wife and I watch a lot of DVD television series from our Sony DVD changer over HDMI. The UMC-1 will (at least once a night) set the sub to extremely hot.
This happens when one episode finishes (e.g. the audio stream is lost for a second while it switches to the new episode on the same disc)
When UMC-1 reacquires the signal the sub levels are way too hot. I turn it down to -10 an it still sounds muffled (e.g muddy bass). My guess is that for some reason the UMC-1 is ignoring its own crossover points as that is what is sounds like to me. Only fix happens when I pause the DVD and then switch inputs (e.g. toggle them)
This is an everynight thing and unacceptable to my wife. This with the other minor problems is making her pressure me to send it back as we have never had any problems of this kind with any of our prior AV receivers. I love the SQ of the UMC-1 (see my review in the appropriate section) but really need this and the other minor bugs to be worked out! I hope a FW update is coming soon.

Hi everyone! Emotiva is going to make this a sticky per today's conversation with Vincedog3 but I think given that Lonnie is trying to maintain his regular obligations plus temporarily admin the forum that it is taking a little bit. I recommend that we continue to add our commentaries and trust that the follow ups are headed our way! Also this is a forum project! We did a poll to see what the interest would be which was very positive and now we have a forum based system that is only as good as the participation of everyone so my continued thanks to all of you!

wow there are a lot of issues on there. This is not good for Emotiva. I have the UMC and I do have some of these issues, but luckily they are minimal. The USP/UMC remote codes is the most annoying but I just got a call from my wife saying she cannot get audio from the system. *sigh* I don't think I will be keeping mine, this processor just doesnt work very well.

Hi Regulator, Actually, you might consider giving the team a chance and they are working the punch list in this tracker system with their developer team. It is a powerful venue to get support and have a voice in the process. When I got my DVDO VP 20 I was having a fair number of problems and the only solution was calling into support and not having any idea what issues were going on and here you have visibility to them. I really think this is a manageable list that will get shorter with each firmware version. Once they come out with a new firmware version we will add the new picklist value to the input form and continue progress. By the way, I use the word we to express that we are all equal members of the forum and that we have collectively combined our efforts into streamlining issues where I dutifully tweak the tool to help us!

Hey SticksNStones, I appreciate the post. I do have confidence that Emotiva will work on these problems, but how long will it be? My concern is that my 30 day trial period is close to ending, so I need to decide to send it back or wait it through and hope that they fix everything. I got my unit with the first FW update and there are still some small issues with it. Maybe some will be fixed in the future, but what if some aren't? I don't want to wait months for a fix on something that should have worked since the beginning. I guess I am not patient, but it is also because I do have an AVR that the UMC was to replace that works and I have never had problems with. I never had to do a FW update on that AVR, and it was easy to use by my family. The UMC is buggy, and not so easy to use because the codes of the USP/UMC are messed up. I know they are working on it, but there is no official word on how long, etc. I do love the sound of it though, much better than my other AVR. That is about the only thing that it beats right now. I just don't know what I should do at this point. Keep my old AVR that works well and I was happy with, or keep the UMC and hope everything gets figured out. Still I do think its cool you set up this tracker page, I think it's a brilliant idea and I hope Emotiva makes good use of it. When I watch the EmoTV videos and I hear Big Dan say that 'it just works', that is a concern because it doesn't work well (at least for me). So I hope they are looking at this seriously and really trying to rectify the problem. Trying to give them a chance...

Hopefully they will make a pass through the database soon, and let us know where things are at. It seems like there are a few bugs that are manifesting in slightly different ways and being reported multiple times.

I don't agree that each issue should only be entered once. Not since Big Dan posted issues under investigation. This implies that these issues may not be real. The more times an issue is reported uniquely the more seriously it will be taken.
Also, when it comes to New Features, how does Emotiva gage the interest if there is only one vote for each feature request?
My 2 cents

I agree that the issues need to be counted- still, it is starting to get a little unwieldy. It would be nice if there were a way to 1+ an issue instead of re-entering it. Maybe if each issue had a reference number, the new entry could just be "I also see issue #43".

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I will experiment with your ideas and see if I can have a V2. There are some limits with this application but it does make the web-publishing versus hosting so much easier as hosting creates an expense.

I know how frustrating it is going through the process of identifying and fixing the bugs that the UMC-1 is currently displaying. Two of the things that seem to be weighing heavily on your mind are the 30-Day Trial period expiring and the Code Overlap issue between the USP-1 and the UMC-1. Perhaps it would be comforting to know that both of these problems have been addressed by Emotiva.
Last month, Big Dan posted that the "clock on the 30-Day Trial" will NOT start counting down until FW releases have stabilized the UMC-1; and, as a result you need not feel pressured to make a decision before you trial period expires -- it hasn't even started to count down. This is important knowing that Emotiva is standing behind the product and that their engineering team is confident that all the bugs can be fixed via FW releases.
On the code overlap between the USP-1 and the UMC-1, Lonnie informed me two days ago that Emotiva has a fix that will be shipping to customers later this month -- free of charge. The "fix" has been thoroughly tested and will automatically be shipped to all customers who purchased both the USP-1 and the UMC-1 from Emotiva.
This fix package will have a brand new aluminum remote control and a CD to upgrade the IR Codes for the "Front Panel" of the UMC-1. This FW upgrade is quite small as it only addresses the IR Codes and does NOT impact the main processor or HDMI code base. Yes, you will need to use your PC and the USB cable to perform the upgrade, but since the "Front Panel" is all that is being modified the upgrade will be quick and painless.
At about the same time that the code overlap fix ships, the next FW release to fix many of the reported bugs will also be released. There is light at the end of the tunnel and we will be there before you know it. ;D Things are getting better and better -- hang in there.
