I'm all for it. But, depending on the capabilities of the underlying OS for the UMC, it could quite a big change to implement. I'm sure it would take more than 5 days to do. However, the cost involved may be cheaper than paying shipping both ways to update a bunch of UMCs.

However, the cost involved may be cheaper than paying shipping both ways to update a bunch of UMCs. Except that, since day 1 of the 1st update there have been massive complaints about the update system - so that's a lot more than 5 days. Not saying it's going to happen, but they should be thinking about making the update procedure easier. It's just one more straw on the camels back.

I`m PC illiterate so it needs to be as easy as possible it`s one of the things that worries me about the XMC and if and or when I update it I wish they could do like the oppo I have the wireless bridge so it updates itself just by turning it on very cool

I'm not sure what you'all are expecting here. The form has been designed and should be used. Other forum members have not chimed into this thread. Just echoes of crickets chirping...

Has anyone read through the entire Report?.... Wow that's a lot of problems to address. 2 weeks might turn into 2 months. Very disappointing and kind of depressing as well..

excuse me? I wasn't "barking" simply stating with all the problems it might take quite a while to have a solid fix.

The emo fanboys here are enough to drive people away from this usually great forum. Then the irony when they take pride in how different they are from other audio sites (avsforum).

Then the irony when they take pride in how different they are from other audio sites (avsforum). Well this *IS* the Emotiva forum, not some generic public forum. The discussion here is biased toward the company who makes this space possible quite logically IMO, since the majority of forum members are already customers or otherwise attracted to the products and like the brand - except of course for the trolls who are here only to talk it down for whatever reason.

I understand that, but my point is the same biased customers act just like the trolls, only in the other extreme. I only mean a handful, not everyone of course. I am an Emotiva customer and I have their products, but I am not a diehard Emotiva can do no wrong fanboy. They make great products and they get my praise and money for that, but they also have duds just like other companies. It is just ironic to me that the ones who pride themeselves on being different from the' trolls' do the exact same thing only on the other extreme. Eh, whatever, it isn't going to change I understand thats how all brand based forums are. It's just annoying and funny at the same time that some don't see how their 'loyalty' can actually hurt the company they love so dearly.

I'm expecting Emotiva to make good on their promise to use and update the form. The point is that there has not been one comment made on the form itself. No input as to what issues have been confirmed/tested/fixed. You know that big EMPTY space where it says comments - that's what we're talking about. It's all about the deafening silence from the mothership - not about what the posters have to say.

It's all about the deafening silence from the mothership - not about what the posters have to say. Yes, it's about time for another "it just works" post. Another post born out of frustration (with EMO's lack of communication, not with their products)

Another post born out of frustration (with EMO's lack of communication, not with their products) My opinion from the sidelines.. Emotiva is a small company that makes very innovative products. They're currently spending valuable time working on fixing the issues with the UMC1.. the firmware update will be sent when its finished. As per Big Dans post, it will be out very shortly. Emotiva, being a small company, doesn't have the resources to constantly update spreadsheets hosted on google docs.. The effort was made to setup a system, which I'm sure emotiva is watching from the "mothership" but realistically they can't reply to each and every person due to the extreme undertaking of daily operations.

And who said anything about constantly? Firmware is set now, tell us what specific issues have been resolved. and, b: Emotiva was involved, to a certain extent, with the creator of this spreadsheet. And they said comments would be forthcoming. So expecting to see, well, comments is not so over the top. quote from March 1: Hi everyone! I received a note from Lonnie yesterday and he is catching up on other priorities but will begin to edit this list as he and his team work through their UMC punch list. I really want this product, and company, to do well. These posts are meant not to bash them, but to point out where some PR/communication foibles are occurring. Hopefully, at some point, their public perception will improve, but as it stands there is a lot of animosity aimed at them for reasons related to communication deficiencies.
