Here are my thoughts on these issues: 1. When Zone-2 is on, UMC will not go cleanly into standby mode. Is this a bug? >> I believe this is how it was designed to work. I would rather it go to standby regardless of the power status of zone-2. I'm sure this is something that can be addressed via firmware. So. not a bug but a good request! Unfortunately, zone-2 power is a toggle. If it had discrete ON and OFF codes I could program my universal remote to always issue a zone-2 Power OFF, then UMC-1 power OFF.2. When UMC is turned on, Zone-2 always defaults to OFF . If it's turned ON, shouldn't it hold the setting thru power cycle? >> Again, this is how it was designed. Other brands also seem to work this way. My Marantz receiver did the same and I had to power on zone-2 after the unit was powered on. 3. Can't get any significant volume out of Zone-2. I'm connecting the UMC MIX jack to a 100 watt amp for the outdoor patio. The Zone-2 volume setting as well as the main volume have very little affect on the outside volume. Zone-2 input is set to Sync. >> Not sure about the MIX jack. Maybe someone else can comment?
4. Same result when using the UMC Zone output. >> There's a setting in one of the menus for zone-2 output level. Make sure that it's not set too low.HTH Thanks for the input. I have the Zone-2 volume set to max. It doesn't seem to matter what it's set at. The volume is sync'd with the main, it just doesn't match the level. Will call support on Monday.

V6 Beta 1 and V6 Beta 2 options have been added but it seems things are winding down. Great job everyone!

Is anyone else using a Philips HDTV? It seems that my brand new 47PFL5704D doesn't like video coming from the UMC-1. My sources work direct to the TV, but not with the UMC in the chain. My 4-year-old Samsung 23" works fine however.

I thought that the audio glitches were gone but, I had four glitches while watching Tudors on Showtime. Each time, the popup said that the audio had changed to what it was before... 3/2+lfe. HR20 receiver recording show while watching.

I was hesitant to report because I thought it was possible that the actual feeds from Showtime and HBO might have been glitchy last night? It does happen. When I was watching Pacific at about midnight, HBOW I think, there were so many dropouts it was almost impossible to watch or follow the story. -CB

I have watched several hours of blu-ray and have fast forwarded directv extensively with beta2 and the umc has performed flawlessly. Very surprised about the program glitches. If they are network feed issues, I will have to live with them.

2 ch PCM is coming through distorted via HDMI from my Oppo. Direct is also distorting. This is new since the final beta uprade. Switched from HDMI 1 to 5...still hear it.
**update: it appears to be the new CD I just bought. All is well in stereoland!

I continue to find it interesting that the majority of the reports of dropouts are with Sat as source.

I continue to find it interesting that the majority of the reports of dropouts are with Sat as source. I don't think the few dropouts I have encountered have anything to do with any religious rights I did while loading the code ;-) I flashed the Beta 2 code on the first try without issues. I am confident the code is loaded correctly with the tools that Emotiva provides. I haven't had any dropouts like I encountered with Showtime and HBO before or since. By this logic leads me to think there was an actual problem with the network feed that night. If it was the UMC-1, I should be experiencing dropouts on other channels which I am not. -CB

Since beta 2.0, I have had 2 incomplete "power off" incidents and one "lock up" while changing channels on my TV from SD to HD stations. from. Overall, very good performance, though...SQ an PQ are grand!

Here's a weird one I noticed last night.
I was going to adjust the OSD depth, and forgot I was in pass through, so I go to the video setup and the UMC tells me that it can't adjust the depth in pass through, no problem, I'll just switch to auto. So I did and went back into the video setup, and when I got to the menu to adjust color contrast, brightness, sharpness, and osd depth, the menu locked up. I couldn't move anything in the menu, I couldn't move off of the "color" adjustment. Exit/Return worked to get out of the menu, and restarting the UMC seemed to fix it. Not a big deal, but a minor bug non the less.

I believe that when I did this it probably contributed to my UMC-1 locking up soon after, requiring a power off/on at the rear to get everything back in order.

I haven't used the room 2 yet, but normally I set the processor to 100% becuase I have volume controls in each room. If UMC is not putting out enough volume or its tied to the main volume that is an issue for me.

The 5/2 broadcast had what I would describe as encoding or audio flag issues along with audio drops. My AV receiver was going crazy trying to handle the drops and the changes in audio encoding/audio flags for that hour. I stopped the show and switched to TV for 10 mins and nothing and then I watched 10 minutes of America: The History of Us with no issues. I went back to The Pacific and it continued. Did anyone else notice anything? I'm glad I'm on a 90 trial of HBO because paying for poor broadcast quality is sad. ************

FYI used Zone 2 last night... worked perfectly. Plenty of volume, was independent of the main volume etc. I found no problems with it.

I just added another item to the tracker for CD's playing on a Blu-Ray player over HDMI. I lose the first half second or so of each track. I know this happens for others, including the Oppo, etc.
I hope this bubbles to the top of the bug list.
