These kinda of great sounding rare inexpensive type of speaker reminds me of the Radio Shack's monitor with the ribbon tweeter on top. Those had some following for their crazy imaging and excellent value..I think they sold for 150 or something crazy like that. I believe they were call Realistic?

Also they must have made a killing selling their inners to the Super duper high end companies, the well has run dry for now. I'm sure they are not hurting one bit.

Sweet looking player. I am excited to see the reviews this is going to garner. Hope it's another winner from the Oppo team. I agree very purdy that's for sure, on the TH mags ads you can't even see the tray opening, very stealth looking..Btw, I love Oppo I've own the 780? 890?83, and now the 83es, and I love them all great stuff from great engineers , with awesome customer services. I'm keeping my 83ES for now or until the 95ES comes out, no stereo analog outs on the 93 : ( Djoel What do you mean Dan? Not even Multichannel Analog Out? I'm with ya, a player without Analog outputs is like an old lady dying from prehistoric aging! ;D Yes on the Multi outs, just that I've been seen a trend out dedicated analog L/R outs..If I have a SSP and would like to you the Multi's on that ( Yes I can be old Skool like that at times )and I usually like to have a 2 ch pre with HT bypass, I would like to use the L/R as well..Just like to keep my options open. I'm keeping my 83ES for now or until the 95ES comes out, no stereo analog outs on the 93 : ( Djoel Why is this an issue for some? Can't you get stereo out from the FL/FR of the 8 channel analog outs? Is that an inferior proposition? Thanks For me I like having choices, especially when the cost reminds the same. I want more not less Djoel

As some of these XPA amps tend to run quite cool, ( cool being a relative term here) 1. 25" should be OK. I've seen photos of Emotiva amp kissing the above shelve, and haven't really seen anyone complain about their amps not performing on par. I know when I had my XPA-1's in a open back cabinet they ran warm boarding to uncomfortable with plenty of space above. I was thought they being 500 watts of raw power had something to do with it, in one chaise in the middle of the NYC Summer.
The shouldn't be a concern either, as it's not going to be directly on top of the amp!
Let us know how you like the XPA-3

I use to own one some time ago, I live in NYC so I needed something small and compacted. I had the Signature version with the rosewood sides, it did was it was supposed to do but ultimately I wanted something a robust, and yet refined. I trade up to the JL audio F113, and I've been happy ever since..Very musical listening to Jaco Pastorius makes me smile from ear to ear : )
Oh and I never had an issue with the Sunfire, great little sub. Djoel

Great read on the 4311, some interesting findings, also some issues spill into the Audyssey thread as well.
I really can't wait on my 4311..

I love Oppo..Glad it worked out for you and they buyer..
I recently experience a mishap on ebay, strange you say! I thought I was buying a new in the box Salamander sliding draw but when I received the draw it was hand made it the red marker to prove it! I told the guy who I bought it from it looked like a counterfeit piece from salamander , and he just said he never said it was New...I contact paypal, and the cash was returned to me..
I did have the heart to give the guy negative feedback, I think he was going through some hard times..But at the same time I think he should be a bit more honest with what he's selling..

Sorry about the extreme late response, I don't know my way around here yet That happens to be my to be my GF of 10 years. Oh and me.. Dan Thanks Dan, that's what I originally tought. You guys look super great. And I read several of your posts over at AVS Forum and I know how cool of a guy you are, a smart guy. I used to post quite a bit over there a while back, and I made several good friends along the way, plus some less friendly, so I search for my place in this cyber space world, and I discovered a new family right here at the Lounge, and so far so good, cause the people are quite mature and extremely intelligent overall. Good people are everywhere that's for sure, but on average there seems to be a much bigger percentage here from the total number of members, plus the mods here are much more relax and cordial with everyone, which I could not say the same from AVS as they seem often to not know who they're dealing with and try to show their egos in a powertrip manner, plus some of their rules totally sucks! Sorry to be so honest, but my vision is quite clear and blurry-free. I wish people like you and Bill and Michael and Roger would spend more time here at the Lounge with us. We like to laugh a lot and not take ourselves too seriously. Plus I'd like to see Kal, and Chris, and Larry and Jeff and Mark and the other Mark as well few other good shots from over there joined us once in a while. I bet they read but they don't post. Anyhoo, glad talking with you while I had the lucky opportunity. Regards and Cheers to both of you and your GF, Bob *TIP: When you like to see where's the action, just look at the top page for *New Topics, with a yellow star in front. Just by clicking on it, you're in! Thank you Bob I completely understand what you're saying, as it can get a little strange on AVS from time to time..God knows I've had my scuffles ;D I try to be fair, and curious to everyone I come in contact with. Heck that's the way I would like to be treated..And you said it, let's not take things too serious folks. Like you I've meet some fantastic people on AVS, and quickly meeting awesome here too.All with same interest as me, what more can I ask for. Bill Mac as been just great, and patient with all the countless advice he has given me..Bill THE CHECK IS IN MAIL Buddy ;D Lol. As well as Carlos, aka NY1pr2009 who gave me the confidence of getting into Emo gear.. Well it was nice talking to you, hope we'll discuss some new an exciting gear in the future. And thanks for the tip on getting around the site. Dan

I got mine ( well pre order) for 1500 from an authorized deal..And I can't wait to have it in hand, this is the closest you'll get a preamp ( signing off the amp section feature) from Denon sub 2K.....I'm psyched. DJoel Hey DJoel, may I ask you who's that good looking guy and gal in your AVS avatar? Sorry about the extreme late response, I don't know my way around here yet That happens to be my to be my GF of 10 years. Oh and me.. Dan

I had the Pleasure of listening to Carlos system about a weeks ago, along with his amazing dedicated HT system Carlos has a 2Ch rig as many of you seen in the above photos. Believe me those pic don't do any justice to feast the eyes nor what the true capabilities of SQ it's to be experience. I immediately gravitated to the argent blocks, and couldn't keep my hands from touching the the sculpted aluminum sides,( out of character for me) with seem hundreds of brackets resembling the side battle ship. Knowing I had limited chance to listen to these beauties, we all know how Carlos moves from gear to gear..I brought my favorite all time SACD Beck's master piece Sea Change, I handed it Carl with a Sh** eating grin! ;D I knew this was going to be special, knowing the Dali sweet, sweet mellow airy quality very well..I owned a pair of Helicon 400dies for 18 months or so..NY1PR2009 has the bigger Heli 800... What filled the room was pure magic, I brought along non audio enthusiast for the ride, and his face just lite up...he could not shut up, and saying it sounds so Clear, it so clear! I just shut my eyes and melted in the push leather sofa which happened to be the sweet spot! Sorry Bud, your system simpling evokes childhood bad habits. :-[I never heard, or thought the hybrid tweeter could sound milky, never edgy, just smoothness,It seem I was a spa were they specialize in some sort of New Age type eardrum massages! Awesome SQ, a touch of warmth, with an enormous sound stage, while every little detail from the plunking of the guitar to Beck's hunting melancholies heart wrench voice..came thought as if he was in front of us just a few feet from us siting on a stool drenched over a close microphone. AWESOME realism, if i do say so myself.. I can go on and on about what I heard from these mighty monos, but I have to say is thanks to my friend Carlos for giving me the chance of hearing these well kept secrets of an amps in a home environment. Thank you again pal for your kindness and the warmest hospitality. Daniel
