Brian, I'm 6-4 so it's spread out a little. I don't think I'd better touch the cannibalism joke. ;D 240lb isn't bad for 6'4", I'm 210lbs at 6'2", but I'm working on my Kung Fu so I might can take you! :-)

Brian I see that all your new additions to your audio system has got you feeling frisky this evening. ;D ;D ;D Do you realize that Chuckienut used to work for the US Postal Service? I'd be careful about calling out a postal worker, after reading all the newspaper articles about the things they do once they become disgruntled. ;D ;D ;D You don't have a death wish, do you?

I'm wondering which will come first: The US Govt balanced budget, or Chuckie's review of the ERM 6.3? I'm betting on the former! ;D

Sorry folks, I got a little behind (now there is one you wise guys can really run with). I hope to have the 6.3 review done soon and posted in a new thread. I'll put a link in this thread soon.
Just let me say now in advance, the 6.3 is one great speaker IMO and an incredible buy at the sale price of $399. More soon.

I really could use 3 of these 6.3s but cash flow at the moment is flowing like molasses.. :-(

For those of you who do not know who Vance is, he is the guy who wrote the book (literally, he wrote THE book) on loudspeakers and encloseures. The book is entitled "The Loudspeaker Design Cookbook" for those of you that are interested. I learned more about speaker design from that book than from any other source.

Another sneak comment:
Here's one more fabulous feature of the 6.3 and the 8.3. They both have toggle switches for tweeter level (3 positions), tweeter extension (2 3 positions), Midrange level (3 positions) and boundary compensation (2 positions). That gives the 6.3 and 8.3 speakers 210 330 different mathematical combinations of EQ settings.[/u][/b] That is one great feature that allows one to fine tune the frequency response of these speakers.

Chuckie: I don't know if that is good or bad for me. I'm a tweaker by nature. I found out that if I have too many options, I get lost trying to find the right combination / settings, rather than simply enjoying the music. The one redeeming value is that I will have to get up off my lazy ass to make the changes, and that might just discourage my tweaking appetite.

Chuckie, the tweeter extension actually has 3 positions. The middle and unmarked position has no roll-off at all. Its easy to hear this by running some pink noise through it and trying all 3 positions. Lonnie talked about it here: emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=speakerreviews&action=display&thread=4654See replies 4 and 8. I was surprised to learn of this myself. So now you'll have to recalculate the total number of combinations. ;D

Although I'm a little upset about buying the other 2 in the 4th of July sale still better than full price though.
