Originally found this place due to me searching on MMG amplifier recomendations. Seemed to be a unusally high percentage of Magnaplanar users talking about Emotiva amps for such a small company. Since I was not just looking for a new amp to drive my MMG's, but rather planning a proper step up into higher quality 2 channel audio finally, its all kind of worked out rather perfect as I'm really sold on going with Emotiva products, have my first XPA-200 and loving every minute of my listening time.

What brought me to Emotiva was price, and after owning 3 of their products, what had me purchasing elsewhere(4 components so far) is price. But with the XMC, they may be coming around to my approach to things. I don't want the cheapest component in a given category that Emotiva can make, whether it be DAC, amp, pre-amp or processor. I want the best component they can make. I"d spend whatever price they ask for it. I think the XPA-1 might be such a product, but I don't want a 500 watt mono.

Quality, performance and price.. it was time to build a serious HT in my new home. A friend on mine introduced me to these systems and the ball didn't stop rolling since then. Did a bit of research and totally fell in love with Emotiva products.

So what do you have right now for a processor or AVR? I ask because there is nothing listed in your signature.

People over at AVS were arguing. Figured if the posters' were so passionate (pro or anti Emo), it was worth looking into. Well that and I'm not gonna drop two or three grand on an amp or processor.
After I placed my order, I called them with a question. Wasn't happy with the answer, but the fact that a real person answered as opposed to the "If your Dodge has 1,000,000 miles, press 2. If your Dodge is on fire, press 3" type of thing impressed me.

fried my yamaha m50 and pre needed work. instead put music on hard drive and bought swans m200mkII and a hrtII. I liked the swans and while reserching the 6.1s all i kept reading about was outlaw and emotiva. Thought i'd like to try surround sound and with all the positive comments here and elsewhere on the net about the xpa5 how could I not. Bought the 6.1s, xpa5, xda1 and a used lmc with the rest of the speakers to come in the future. Since then finshed buying speakers, a upa2, umc1 and a used rpa1 to match up with a pair of maggi mgIIb i had in storage for 2 channel. Most is now in storage waiting on moving to new home. I like my emo stuff so much I would rather store it than sell. I can't wait to hook it all back up ! right now oppo 83se, umc1 2 channel, rpa1 and dana 640i and desktop xda1 with swan m200mkII ;D

SouthWest Airlines brought me to Emotiva. I friend was helping me with an install during the summer of 2011 and mentioned Emotiva. I hit the website, liked what I saw, registered for Emofest 2011 and flew down.

I recently got an insane deal on a pair of Monitor Audio GS20s. After taking them to a friend's house and hooking up to some proper gear, I realized that my run-of-the-mill AVR wasn't good enough to bring out the best in the speakers. He had an XDA-2, so we got on the subject. After doing some research on my own, I decided to step up to separates and ordered the following: UMC-200 UPA-700 Just got them yesterday and got them all hooked up. I must say that I'm very impressed. All of the reviews are spot on. I do have an issue with the amp having a marked hum on 2 of the channels, but Emotiva has already issued an RMA and are bench-testing and shipping a new one out.
So far, I have nothing but good things to say about the products and the top notch customer service. Kudos to Emotiva for an affordable entry point into 'real' audio components.

Well, first thing I saw was the ads in Stereophile. Then I heard some buzz about them, I forget where, so I checked out the website. Then I realized they were 20 miles as the crow flies from my house. Add in the great price/performance ration, and I was quite intrigued.
So I bought a pair of XRM 6.1s to try out. I told the wife I could send them back and they were a huge upgrade to my Infinity Beta speakers. Then I went to Emofest, and I saw the XRM 4.1s, and I wanted them. I wanted them bad! I bought a pair for my daughter for college. My wife loved the sound too, I think I had already picked up an XRC 6.2, which made the surround sound rig better.
The wife wondered if I should replace the other 4 Infinity speakers with 4 more 4.1s as they were smaller. Smaller they are, but better also. Do you think she had to ask me twice? This kicked things into high gear for the system as the matching tweeters gave a level of space and realism to the surround that was killer! That was when I met the dogs at the store and made friends with the fussy gray one, sorry, I forget their names.
Then I picked up a pair of XRT 6.2s to replace the 6.1s in the front speakers. It was so funny, I go down to pick up everything in person, and showed up to get the 6.2s with my PT Cruiser. Getting those suckers to fit in the car was really a trick! I ended up pushing the driver's side seat up so far that I had to hold my breath to drive! But they were thin and fit in the room well, which the wife liked, and they again sounded better! I put the 6.1s in the den pushed by a nice, old NAD 2040.
Then I got an XDA-2. The wife was skeptical. Who can blame her? I had been living with the Infinity speakers for 7 years or so and had been happy enough. Now she regularly sits to listen with me and hears something new in the mix that she never heard before the addition of the XDA-2. She will have me try to cut in and out the upsampling, and like me, she prefers it on for cd quality and off for higher res tracks. Then I bought a mini-x A100 from Boomzilla (thank you brother!) to push my daughter's college system. She has a mac and a dragonfly and a terabite drive of the family music to keep her company, and she will rock while she is away!
Next, I want to upgrade my amplification. I am going back and forth between two or three channel amp for the fronts. I am close to having the money, but to be honest, I may wait for a great deal at Emofest! I cannot wait to go back. Then there is the bedroom, a couple of powered speakers would be great up there, at least a 6 inch woofer probably. But that is likely at least a year away.
Again to be honest, I have become an EMO fanboi. It is a mixture of great product, local company, and my inherent nerdiness. After I get the amplification taken care of, and XPA 5 and an XPA 2 I am thinking, I will need the pre.
So I consider myself pitiful but happy, and an Emotiva fanatic. But I guess I should learn the name of the dogs!

I really want to tell you In (12/2011) finally changed the SOURCE of my system that was the DENON 2910 and bought the OPPO 95EU and was very pleased, until he leaves the BOMB OPPO 105EU. This year (02/2013) bought the OPPO 105EU but only after reading a lot of criticism about its performance, because it had the reference of 95. The problem is that with the constant references to his audio quality of the XLR outputs, I started thinking, well, I must take advantage of this, I have to get the best... I contacted my consultant (seller) sound and he told me in Sherbourn I have investigated the matter and that's when I started to see the products of EMOTIVA and continued to study the subject. I made contact with the goal of having feedback on their quality and construction, all were very clear: - Very good, I've tried to have representation but they only sell direct, purchase! And here I am, happy life with a strong desire to build my dream system, no less than 5 (XPA-1) monoblocks. I want thank you in advance for EMOTIVA and its CEO for having managed to make my DREAM reality. - Guy's I'm a perfectionist... ;D the wallet and the bank account that it is a disgrace... ;D - I AM VERY, VERY, VERY HAPPY WITH MY XPA-1, THEY ARE PHENOMENAL! ;D

Long and the short of it? Dan did . I kid, well, not really, Dan really did bring me to Emotiva. Honestly, it was all of you, the Emotiva faithful, that really brought me here. As an AV journalist I had obviously heard of Emotiva, but due to circumstances outside of my control I was never able to put hands on any of their (Emotiva's) products for my own edification. Then the UMC-200 came into being. By throwing caution to the wind -and possibly my career - I publicly reached out to Dan via my personal site. We hit it off, which as I understand isn't rare, and he agreed to send me a UMC-200 for review. I was pleasantly surprised -okay I might have been more than pleasantly surprised. I awarded the UMC-200 a five star rating because in my personal tests I found little fault with it. Dan immediately sent me the UPA-700 to try with the UMC-200 and, again, I was pleasantly surprised. Upon leaving my job as the managing editor of one of the industry's larger online publications I received a call from Dan and the rest is history.

I came to Emotiva totally by chance. I had been looking for a pair of replacement side surround speakers (Ascension Summoner 864's) to replace a large pair of KEF Concerto's. I found an almost brand new pair for sale on our local DTV Forum. I checked with Edward, the #1 guy at Adelaide Speakers and he confirmed their spec and that they were in fact almost brand new. The guy selling the speakers had them in a package deal with a USP-1 and a UPA-2. Another guy wanted the UPA-2, so that was easy, but no sale unless I took the USP-1 with the speakers. The combined price was good and I figured I could on sell the USP-1 later anyway.
That's how I ended up with a USP-1, which BTW I still have, because it sounded so damn good. Some years later I now have lots more Emotiva gear and 3 more of Edwards fine speakers.
Cheers Gary

Well I haven't been here to long time myself but welcome to the lounge. Myself, I read a fair bit of reviews in my quest for audio nirvana at a price that wont require my children's university fund for enjoyment. Emotiva, since my purchases, has impressed me, a full sound, with lots of clarity, deep base, and a pre-mo grin.......also with how they handled the issues with the xpa-1L, pure class. Again.....welcome to the lounge.

I am on the hunt for a headphone and some guy @head-fi hooked it up on his HE-500 (which I am researching for)..drew me to research on the amp being used and end up placing an order on the mini-x through some local reseller on import..with the current sale price of the mini-x the total landed cost for me will be around $270 (will take 45 days, probably it will be shipped through the sea), the cheapest air courier will set me back at least $350 including import taxes..so I didn't take that route..I decided on the mini-x since I will be purchasing this year a set of speakers I am longing for more than 2 years plus I can use it on my future headphones ..hopefully the mini-x will have a good synergy with..

Hi!! Just got approved by the Mods. Thanks for letting me in. And it's my first post. Felt it would be good to start here.
Do not clearly remember but heard about Emotiva on an Indian AV blog known as Hi Fi vision - forum 2 years ago. Then last year the year end sale came along on the Emotiva website with three tempting purchase options. Ever since have been waiting for another sale to happen and eventually purchased a XPa2 and the USP 1 ( spring Sale) with Bill me Later to take the pinch away. Thanks to Emotiva for keeping this option. Next purchase intended- XDA2 DAC . And also , a pair of M-Lores ( B stock) have left Tekton to arrive soon.. Eric gave a good Deal on them . Will update in a relevant section. Am thrilled to experience the new rig.
Thanks-
