Welcome to the lounge! Looks like you're putting together a superb system. Please post your impressions once you get it all hooked up.

I found Emotiva on the Martin Logan forum. One look at Emotiva.com and I purchased my first amplifier, and I am hooked.

I found Emotiva on the Vienna Acoustics forum. Oddly, I don't even remember the last time I was on that forum. Great speakers though!

I had heard of Emotiva but it was Sherbourn that brought me in. I was interested in hearing something with a toroidal transformer (was curious if I would hear a difference or find it to be marketing hype) but never seemed to have the space or willingness to spend on separates. When I saw the SR-8100 I was interested and from that I found the UMC-200 + various amp options that were both compact and very reasonably priced. While deciding if I wanted the UMC-200 and would be willing to lose a volume knob (volume knob is a big deal for me - use it all the time) the SR-8100 dropped to a no brainer price - decision made! :-)
My verdict on the SR-8100 - I think I can can hear a difference and a positive one at that. Now I am interested in the XMC-1 and the discount provided by the SR-8100 purchase means it almost pays for itself while I wait...

I was poking around on eBay looking at Hafler amps (I had one for a while in the early 90s) after I cooked my Counterpoint SA-100's mosfets setting it up after a move, and then started researching old Haflers on the web. I stumbled across someone raving about Emotiva amps in some obscure pro gear forum. Funny how the interweb works, and it goes to show you that putting out a good product is still the best form of "advertising."
