based on the convo I had yesterday with an independent Yamaha authorized service center, there's no such thing as lightning protection in a surge protector. My Panamax 1000+ did nothing to stop my receiver from taking the brunt of energy.

Quick question, does it come with standard power cable as well ?
I do not have 20A circuit in my basement, just the regular power outlet

My goodness I'm chomping at the bit with this one. I have wired my theater room with 14 gauge wire and there are 2 20 amp circuits to the room. Does anyone know if this amp would require being on a circuit by itself? or could it share a circuit with a UMC-1, blu ray player and dlp tv? All I need to do is change to the correct plug if that will work?? Also Im currently using an XPA-2 for fronts a XPA 3 for center and surrounds and an upa 2 for back surrounds. Would it be a waste to go from all those seperate amps to a single? The sherwood wouldnt provide much more for the fronts but a ton more than needed for the surround's a rear surrounds. It would free up some space in the rack however. Any opinions on this?

Hmmm - Shouldn't you have used 12 gauge wire? You may have to change those cb's back to 15A! Unless you have the amp fully loaded, you can get by on a 15 amp circuit. If it powers up without the inrush tripping the cb, you should be o.k.

My Panamax 1000+ did nothing to stop my receiver from taking the brunt of energy. That's why I think the APC H15 is so unique. It first diverts surges to ground to dissipate excess current throughout the ground wiring system in a house/building and then, if needed, protects against the surge internally after that. That's why it's joule rating is low but it's guarantee is high. But in the end, no guarantees against Mother Nature! Anyway, back to the Sherbourn, lol

Sherbourn PA 5-200 Frequency Response: 5 Hz to 80 kHz (+ 0 / - 3 dB) THD + noise: < 0.03%
Sherbourn PA 7-350 Frequency Response: 20 Hz to 80 kHz (+ 0 / - 2 dB) THD + noise: < 0.02%
=============================================================================================
Not that anyone can hear it, but I just noticed that the PA 5-200 dips a little lower.

I do not have 20A circuit in my basement, just the regular power outlet Go to Home Depot and buy a $10 20A plug ans swap it out for one of your 15a ones. Since you are not changing the breaker, it's doing the exact same thing as buying a CMX or any other option. It's by far the cheapest solution as well. Your line will still be only 15A but you'll be able to use your amp!

I know I don't have much time, but if anyone is replacing their Adcom with a PA 7-350, or PA 5-200 give me a quick comparison on the difference you're hearing.

Sherbourn website specs say 29db gain for the 7-350, but lab test shows 34dB gain, anyone know the real number or am a reading something wrong?

I find it ironic that hardly any members owned any sherbourn products and all of a sudden they are a great product and people are fighting for them. Couple months ago I ask for opinions on the pa-250 and everybody unanimously said the the emotiva is better. It was the first thing to sell out? Price sure does change people's opinions....

I was trying to find a way to not afford this as I recently upgraded my TV and just came back from an expensive vacation. Thankfully, all you folks that jumped the gun just decided for me. I just refreshed the PA 7-350 page and it now says, "Sorry, this product is unavailable." I'm sad but relieved all at the same time. *whew*
