So say you get a EDA-2 and you want to add more modules. You send it back or open it up yourself and add more modules into the chassis. There may be some common component that all the individual modules use and it needs a software update to activate the new modules ? Im not an engineer, but Volcan, and logic dictates this,,,,,,,,,IMO what the heck do I know! Thats my guess, time will tell.

If you know the secret code on the USB port you can get the amp to go to 11.

While we are here lets do a little refresh on the features of the Emersa gear.
Take the EPA-1 stereo preamp. There will be three different DAC's offered for it.
The base EPA-1 will have the same DAC that is in the EGO - 32 Bit / 384K
Add $100 for DSD
Add $200 for WiFi, DNLA, ISO support, Android support. With these features you can push content though your network or wireless device and peer to peer wireless.
Both the EPA-1 stereo preamp and EMP-1 Prepro will have integrated Bluetooth.
Anyone think it would be useful to have the three DAC options for the EMP-1 Prepro ?

So, where did you see EMOTIVA say it was supposed to be out in early 2016? In the video and all reports directly from Emotiva from CES, no timing was ever stated. The only place I have seen timing of "early 2016" was in Audioholics speculation of dates, and given that is not being stated by someone from Emotiva it has no value to me. I do recall Big Dan saying we would hear more about new products early this year (and we did, but we didn't hear timing for production). Only recently have Emotiva hinted at timings and sequence relative to the Gen 3 xpa's, new speaker lines, and Emersa. Mark

For the EPA-1 stereo preamp 2.1 bass manager with selectable high pass filter.
Am I getting this right that it would cut the main left and right output off below 80hz.
The subwoofer summed output would be what ? Full ? Below 80hz ?
Selectable ? Is this just on and off for the 80hz high pass filter on the mains ?
When off you can run the mains full ?

LC there was a mention of second quarter 2016 in a Podcast. It was that they planned for this. I have said this before. Plans are just plans. Everyone should plan for things but plans do not always work out as planned ! Unless you have a contract with Emotiva for delivery of Emersa gear that has a date on it you will have to wait like everyone else for them to build them and sell them. Cheers ! Mike

Hey guy, I just relistened to the latest podcast, Emersa should be out Late summer, which translated means,,,,,,,,,,,,when its/we're ready,,,,,,,it'll be ready and up for sale. But to this point, they have been precise in their guess release date!! Yep! Very exiting times to be a fan of Emotiva!
I peeked behind the curtains!!!

Late summer here in Florida extends at times into November, so in my case my blood pressure hasn't gone up any yet.

Mike I would agree Mike. The main reason I responded in this thread is because of what I consider the "tiresome pot shots" that a few seem to still take at Emotiva over timelines. Since Dan hasn't given any definitive timelines or release dates since the XMC-1 was finally released(which has now been over 2 years ago) you would think people would let things go and give it rest. I often wonder if one can't let something like this go after two years, then I'd hate to be someone who is related who never hears the end of it and is constantly reminded of a mistake.

Emotiva a release date is always when it is ready. They made some educated guesses with the XMC-1 and got crucified over it. They made some definitive dates and missed them because stuff happens. Dan has said before that he will not release a product until it is ready. If you are ready to buy and their product is not out then buy something else. I believe he means that with integrity.
Personally I am looking forward to Emersa and will probably get the Stereo Pre or maybe the Ht Pre. I look forward to the products and hope that they work well.

We really do not know much about this gear. Someone that attended I think Axpona 2016 had a talk with Lonnie about the Emersa Prepro. He reported here that Lonnie told him the Texas Instrument Processor Chips were more recent and advanced than the ones in the XMC-1. The Emersa EMP-1 Prepro for $999 uses the same operating system as the XMC-1 and has Dirac Live. This unit sounds to me like it will perform on par with the XMC-1. Just minus the balanced analog.

Unless you have a contract with Emotiva for delivery of Emersa gear that has a date on it you will have to wait like everyone else for them to build them and sell them I don't recall them ever saying production in first or second quarter. I do recall them commenting about more info being available in coming quarters. In any case, I will be happy to see it once it is here. It looks like a great addition to the lineup. And like LCseminole, it does grow tiring to see the select few (not you, by the way) who continue to drag them through the mud based on their former approach (which as LC points out...they have not followed for two years). Looking forward to the new gear! Mark
