I apologize for the side effect this thread did. If I had know this, I would not have created it. You know why I started the speaker update thread ? To get people here to talk about the new speakers. There are a lot of folks that just come here and read to get info that never post. I posted stuff that was bogus just to see if I could get Emotiva to chime in and that is when RoryB posted the info about them being built as advertised and on the slow boat. I hope you guys are checking the Product page regularly and showing Emotiva there is interest in there products. Show them we have interest in there products and they will come on here and talk about them !

Are you suggesting a digital input into the amp ? Is there or can there be a digital amp like the ICE modules that can do that ? I have never seen a DAC with USB output. Maybe an analog signal via USB into the ICE modules. Maybe it is for some type of update. Maybe a 5v power output. I didn't look at the video and thought it was an integrated amp, where a USB DAC input could be appropriate. Don't know what you would do with USB on a power amp, though like you say, maybe a firmware update. Edit ... oh, I see it's been long answered.

So, where did you see EMOTIVA say it was supposed to be out in early 2016? In the video and all reports directly from Emotiva from CES, no timing was ever stated. The only place I have seen timing of "early 2016" was in Audioholics speculation of dates, and given that is not being stated by someone from Emotiva it has no value to me. I do recall Big Dan saying we would hear more about new products early this year (and we did, but we didn't hear timing for production). Only recently have Emotiva hinted at timings and sequence relative to the Gen 3 xpa's, new speaker lines, and Emersa. Mark I got the "early 2016" from Audioholic. Below is from Emotiva news site: "Delivering iridescent audio quality, Emersa sets a new standard in the features and functionality expected from high-end audio. Emersa components are available exclusively at www.emotiva.com and through authorized Emotiva dealers. Additional Emersa models will be announced in 2016." emotiva.com/whats-new/audio-gets-immersive-emotiva-re-thinks-contemporary-high-end-market-ces-2016-introductionPer what it says, Emersa product or "components" should be out by now!

Both the Emersa pre and prepro have Bluetooth. When I look at some of the newer A/V receivers in the Emersa price range there Bluetooth can transmit. I look forward to learning what version of Bluetooth is used on the Emersa gear.

The Emersa gear will also be here shortly in 2016.

"Delivering iridescent audio quality, Emersa sets a new standard in the features and functionality expected from high-end audio. Emersa components are available exclusively at www.emotiva.com and through authorized Emotiva dealers. Additional Emersa models will be announced in 2016." Per what it says, Emersa product or "components" should be out by now! Clearly, they could have chosen their wording better to say "Once in production, Emersa components will be available...". But, they did not choose to use the wording I would have used - for whatever reason. But, I believe that if I were considering seriously buying an Emersa component at the time of the news release, my brain would have told me: 1) To go look on the website or check my dealer for them. 2) That When I didn't find them in either place, I should call Emotiva and ask when they would be available. And, I would have been told, "sorry, they are not in production yet and when they are, check back on the website or with your local dealer" 3) That if I were really, really interested...that I should follow their podcasts and this site to learn more. And, I would have learned that they really have not said anything firm about timing. And, putting #2 and #3 together, I would have decided to either wait or buy something else...instead of taking what looks like "shots across the bow" about them "missing timing" that was never actually specifically committed. And, had I read someone else quoting a timing...I would have called Emotiva and asked if it was legit, and I am confident I would have been told "no". But. that's just me...and my brain. Others' brains seem to make different decisions. Mark

I think I heard this right. Emersa is starting production. Quoting the new PodCast, "Emersa has been released for production and in the production que and completely built in North America." The whole BaseX line(including a CD player) will be on cart by September, and a surprise in the A-100 integrated for headphone nuts. For those mono-block lovers, the XPA-1 is a legacy piece and will be sold for the foreseeable future. The Airmotiv speakers are on the water and should be here the first week of August. They have a pre-production model of an Airmotiv 15im sub.

Mark Why not Emotiva update their site with Emersa line "coming soon" and fix their news article about the product? --or call site s like Audioholic to correct their "Early 2016" Just logical decision. Specially after XMC-1 fiasco. All I see are mix signals.

goodfellas27All I see is someone who should fact check a bit instead of just stirring the pot over 1 single wording nuance that disagrees with everything else that is known. (Seriously...minimal fact checking makes it clear what the situation is. And, No...Emotiva has never committed to firm timing. Check it out...dig a little.) PS - now in production...per podcast! Mark

"Delivering iridescent audio quality, Emersa sets a new standard I had forgotten about "iridescent audio". Ouch; truly cringeworthy.

Mark I offered some efficacious remarks, hence the suggestion above. The "pot" wasn't included. We shouldn't be fishing for facts. Plus, not everyone is in the forums is checking for facts. Is something easy to fix and that avoids confusion should be address by updating their site. I see it as a low hanging fruit.

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Emersa amplifiers, specifically the EDA-7. Is there any news on these?

Emotiva needs to get the first run of tube amps completed before they can ramp up on Emersa.

I am so glad that they are no longer doing the coming soon stuff. It's okay with announcing it, but ow with no exact promises on when, they can't dissapoint people.

The Elfs in Franklin Tennessee I am sure are very busy. They have to make one for you and me and all the boys and girls out there. Remember, be nice ! Freeze this video @ 3:15. There is a USB port on the back of the Emersa EDA digital amp. Anyone here know why you would have a USB port on an amplifier ? The USB port on the amp is so we can do a field update on the control software if that was ever needed. Lonnie
