Sohmer and other PR firms do not distribute PRs without payment, nor even do they put it up anywhere until they are paid. They were apparently given a lineup and presentation by emotiva, which included that above information. Emotiva decided to not work with them to change it for some reason. If it were my company and I saw incorrect info, I would ensure it was removed ASAP. It isn't hard to do, and obviously this is striking a chord.
The frustration I have can be summed up as this: The emotiva page *currently* discusses the XMC-1 Gen 3 as having a 1q17 due date, as a separate product from the current XMC-1 (even if they didn't bring it to CES, which they wouldn't if they are focused on the RMC-1 but doesn't mean it isn't in process). This is a device which was later referred to by Dan (supposedly) as having been renamed the XMC-2 Gen-3 due to a larger architectural difference with some updates on the outputs and circuits. Unfortunately the XMC-1 Gen 3 references were not changed on the site, nor where the dates and hence they were assumed to be the same as before. At this point this is the sum total of the information we really know about the unit.

I have and many others here have and it did us no good. I have no doubt that Emotiva will build a Audio and Video Surround Processor that will suite your needs at a price well below the competition. It may be named something other than the current label given it. When it hits the site for sale then that is the name of the product. Emotiva has the right to change the name anytime they want without anyone on the Lounge's permission. If you are frustrated because you do not know what the name really is or what it will do or when it will be for sale you are not alone. It will happen when it happens and it will be what it will be. Wait and you will see.  |

I have a 5.1 system but some of the RMC-1 features are appealing; notably Separate DACS per channel and higher resolution Dirac.

Well, I had no idea the XMC-2 Was in the end stages of release. (I've been away for a while)...lol.
So, I'm going to hold off purchasing the XMC-1 at least until EMO Fest... I'm guessing a major announcement will come then.... hopefully.

Well, I had no idea the XMC-2 Was in the end stages of release. (I've been away for a while)...lol. So, I'm going to hold off purchasing the XMC-1 at least until EMO Fest... I'm guessing a major announcement will come then.... hopefully. Hi Suffolk ; I would be thinking more along the lines of the RMC1 if the latest podcast comments are any indication  The XMC2 hasn't been mentioned and the RMC1 main processing board is no longer waiting [ hostage] on dolby and dts to pass certification ... And then theres still the XMC1 atmos and hdmi upgrades to delay any new similar version . The RMC1 has no such impediment |

Any heard of the recommended price on this Unit ?? I don't think there is a recommended price as it doesn't exist yet. I'm not sure it even exists as a prototype. Maybe on paper or in Big Dan's head. |

Wow if they dont have a Prototype on the unit i think its 1 year away atleast. First protype showed from RMC-1 was CES in January and i can promise they have had it atleast 3 months before they showed it in Public |
