I just saw a review for a new model of these called double impact and the review is great. They are very large speakers though! Does anyone own this brand? If so, what's your opinion?

Lots of folks here have tektons, but I don't recall anyone with the new double impacts here yet. Most have the pendragons.

Yes they are fantastic speakers!
I have the Enzo's and the Lore's.
I've heard all of his offerings minus the doubles as they were prototypes at the time.
Highly recommend Eric's speakers.

I may have to check into these! I've tried many different speakers and have always went back to my kef xq40's. Before them i never kept anything long only because I like to try different things. I will do some reading up on them! Thanks for the input

Dang! I see these speakers are very very efficient. I haven't changed my equipment in my profile yet, but I'm currently running a pair of Aragon palladium ii mono blocks which will drive even the most demanding speakers. I would think that they would be major overkill at 600 watts into a 4 ohm load. However, if I get them and really like them I could downgrade my amps and recoup some of the money I spend on the Tektons.

I'm using XPA1L's driving Tekton Enzo XL's and couldn't be happier. Excellent sound, and imaging in my room. The price to performance is off the charts. Big win for me.

I agree with the sentiments here, great value in these speakers. I have a 'smaller' model, the 'Lore Reference', in my smallish room they are more than adequate if not overkill and dig down pretty deep as well so I don't even use a sub for 2 channel listening. You should read up on the Audiokarma thread that butchgo posted above, I'm active on it also. Here's a review link on my speakers... www.stereotimes.com/post/tekton-design-lore-reference-loudspeakers/

I have a pair of Pendragons - and they are great speakers. Many in my community have bought several higher-priced speakers but none of them to these Pens. my neighbor bought the Double Impact after hearing to my Pens - and they are awesome. If I were buying a pair of speakers today, I would definitely buy the DI. Many in my community plan to do so too. (this is a new community of over 1000 homes and many are just about setting up their media room)

Not wishing to totally derail this thread, but has anyone noticed the website changes for the Tekton Design (seems to jump between new look and old depending on page)? Also, the new Tekton PMD (professional monitoring devices). Oddly, these seem like the same speakers but at MUCH higher prices???

Jesus! $20,000 for the Pendragon?! What's he doing building the case out of aluminium or something? Surprisng because the rest of his line up is fantastic in value! So there must be something he's doing that's causing the price to jump so much! they look like they are the same drivers too!

My theater room is about 12.5x24 with 8 ft ceilings. I wonder if those double impact would be too much? I also have a pair of acoustic zen adagio speakers sitting in the living room that I haven't even tried yet! I've read great things about them as well.

That review of the Double Impact was all kinds of fantastic! He mainly reviewed it against speakers costing huge amounts of money and said it came out on top.

I would think that they would be major overkill at 600 watts into a 4 ohm load. However, if I get them and really like them I could downgrade my amps and recoup some of the money I spend on the Tektons. Here is on of the statements from a recent review. So basically you should be fine driving these speakers with any low powered amp. "On the back of the Double Impact is one set of high-quality speaker wire terminals and two twin ports that vent the two 10-inch drivers. Its frequency range is 20 Hz to 30 kHz, with a sensitivity of 98.82 dB and an impedance of four ohms. Because of its four-ohm rating and very high sensitivity, you can drive this speaker to extremely loud levels (over 100 dB) with less than 10 watts. Yes, I said 10 watts!"
