I have never listened to any of his speakers. However, all these different speaker models and claims and patents etc., etc. is so overwhelming when all I want to do is listen to music...I think he is getting a little carried away. Just saying. My only similar comment is that it just comes across to me like the guy has no real idea what he's doing or where he's going. It's like he's just experimenting all the time, and it's all just hit or miss guessing with no actual science behind it. Too many models, models being added and changing out constantly, with no real consistency, pattern, or specified goals to anything he does. Except maybe that he just likes playing around with speakers. Wake up Tuesday and say, "hmmmmmm, what if I use 10 tweeters in a triangular pattern, and put one huge woofer firing backwards in the center." Then wake up Friday and say, "hmmmmmm, what if I use 1 tweeter on each side of the speaker with 3 woofers on each side and make them quad polar?" Then on the big day, Sunday, wake up and say, "what if I make speakers made from multiple speakers that all have over the top more than enough of everything.?" He's already done the Sunday one.....add more cones and it must be better approach. Again, I've never heard them either, and I would like to. But the more and more as time goes by, the less interested I become in listening to them. The fire aim draw approach turns me away.

Lol😂😂😂 I can totally agree that it comes across that way but Eric is highly respected in speaker design and was once sought here for his skills....😲 But I drove 12 hours to meet him at his shop and hear his products. He is a mad scientists and when you think about it,being the guy in charge he can design at a whim which is how his mind works. Trust me it does not shut off I've seen prototypes of prototypes in his shop that I was like really dude? Cocain is a hell of a drug lol but I know that he is very centered in faith so it was more that he is in design mode 24/7. Freaking awesome guy and the proof is in how they sound. Great!

I'm just not sure it's the speaker model mold I would want to get involved in. It sounds PERFECT for someone like Boomzilla, who is never truly happy in this hobby and constantly feels the need (or enjoys) to readily change things up. I'm surprised he hasn't gotten on Eric's speaker of the month club. I'd still like to hear them sometime.

I've still got my Tekton Pendragons despite a bunch of other speakers having come and gone. Make of that what you will.

After following Boomzilla's journey over the years, I can confirm this simple statement of his speaks volumes. I've still got my Tekton Pendragons despite a bunch of other speakers having come and gone. Make of that what you will.

I've still got my Tekton Pendragons despite a bunch of other speakers having come and gone. Make of that what you will. I think that's because you actually paid some decent money for them (no garage sale specials here), had them painted that unique custom color (which I like by the way), and had the custom color grills made. You haven't spent that kind of money on many of your other trials, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but you haven't had others "custom" made either. You've got more time, money and effort invested in them. Make of that what you will. And I'm sure they sound great, to you at least. But knowing you have also really enjoyed the likes of Klipsch and Thiel, I do believe our "sounds great" tastes differ. So I'm not sure I would like their sound really. However, Andrew Robinson compared their sound to the likes of Wilson, and THAT is a sound I very much do like. Hence why I am still curious to hear them.

I kinda agree with Bonzo here. His products are all over the map in terms of design, and that makes me nervous because there is no stability; here today, gone tomorrow, good luck trying to match up products down the road if you ever want to expand.
Not only that; I've seen refrigerators with more sex appeal. Just a square box, screws sticking out all over the place, and woofers that look like 1980's radio shack specials. This is purely subjective, but they have no WAF whatsoever, so I won't buy them regardless of how good they sound... because I'm sure I can find other speakers that I like the sound of, which look much better (to me). I wish he would spend a little more time on the looks and little less time on revisions of revisions.
I'm willing to concede that they sound great though, too many people have expressed this for it to not be true.

I did have the Axioms for a couple of years. I sold them after I compared them to the Pendragons. The Axioms were VERY good speakers, but the Pendragons do some things for me (bass, in particular) that the Axioms didn't (in my room).

As for Booms Tekton's...I guess i'd partially agree w/ Bonzo in terms of the 'investment' and custom factors, however, Pendragons are still a popular speaker and Boom could easily flip those like any other piece of gear he's owned. Also, I'm not sure i've heard anyone express displeasure from their Pendragons or any other Tektons for that matter, usually owners 'trade up' rather than moving on to a different brand. What I'd be interested in knowing is, how different do my Lore Reference sound then the Pendragons or Enzos, or how different do the Pendragons sound to the newer Double Impacts? I suppose it's no different than other speaker makers and going through their line up, but I do wonder if Eric's 'voicing' if you will is very similar across the board. Personally I commend a guy like Eric for doing what he's doing, who says he has to do the norm and rest on his success from a particular design (the orig. Lore), it's the challenges of creating something better that motivate him which in turn may mean starting with a fresh design rather than an improvement of the original. copperpipe How does your statement about 'good luck trying to match up products if you ever want to expand' not apply to every company out there? Companies discontinue certain speakers/lines regularly. I've done my fair share of buying used and discontinued speakers in the past and have had to search classifieds to find matching center channels or surrounds. On Tekton's site Eric states that he can make matching surround setups for just about anything he carries, as he did for my Lore Reference. I also wouldn't be surprised that if you had a pair of discontinued speakers and needed a matching surround or center that he's still be willing to make one for you, this is the advantage of dealing with a small local company rather than the likes of Klipsch etc. I do agree that they completely lack any sort of WAF or other pleasing design features. In fact not only am I shocked that my wife let me have these big black boxes without grills in our living room (with matching big black center channel) but also surprised at myself for buying them! Before these i was sure i was going to buy a pair of Sonus Fabers, how can anyone knock their looks? The problem I had is that I wasn't wowed by the new Venere line, which were the only models in my budget other than maybe some older 'discontinued' models. I was drawn to the Tektons mainly for their reputation and description of sound from other owners / reviewers, and was a bonus that I felt good giving business to a small company here in the US.

copperpipe How does your statement about 'good luck trying to match up products if you ever want to expand' not apply to every company out there? Mainly because he has limited runs/small numbers. With a larger company you have much better chance of finding used, and also most larger companies don't turn over products that fast. This is actually one of my worries with Emotiva too; their products don't stick around very long (with the exception of their X series amps), which makes "buying in stages" a little difficult.

Eric also took the time to downsize my center channel due to location constraints

My room itself constrains me from potentially getting anything much bigger than I have now which is partly why I settled on the Reference model. I'm already pushing the limits now because of furniture placement and a doorway close the left channel. I would love to hear more of his designs some day though.

I own the lore reference as well as the Enzo's, I have not compared them in the same room, the Enzo's are definitely worth the added cash. Eric also took the time to downsize my center channel due to location constraints One thing i find confusing is that the specs on the site say that the Lore Reference are rated down to 37hz but the (larger) Enzo's are rated to 40hz. I realize that numbers don't tell the whole story but nonetheless i'm a bit surprised. Did you find the lower frequencies to be about the same for both models or was one a bit deeper than the other?

Can't say, different rooms, lores never break a sweat in the bedroom. Dirac and REW both show the Enzo's rolling off at about 35hz. With room acoustics being such a large factor I am not sure I would know the difference between 35 and 40 during normal use. YMMV

I've recently purchased a pair of the new release Tekton Uruz (basically a Lore with a ribbon tweeter) and I'm just gonna go ahead and say that Eric knows what he is doing. Everyone has their own own requirements and tastes but I honestly can't imagine or have experienced anything in the same league as these things. I've pushed them with my super sexy vintage Accuphase P300, an Adcom 5300 and even a Soundcraftsmen 50w per side A100 and these suckers sing and will crush you with their room pressurization. Hooked up to the Accuphase they will peel your face back while producing a holographic soundstage with unbelievable detail . Unreal. I've heard lots of speakers in my lif and these guys are something special. Get them now.

If you have never heard Tekton speakers then you should listen to them before you comment on how they sound and try and tell an owner what they think or what Eric is trying to do. Try and find someone local and have a listen, you may like the sound and you might not. It is interesting that all of us Tekton owners rave about the sound WE hear from the speakers and WE love them.
Each person likes different sounds that is why there are so many speaker manufacturers making different sounding speakers at different price points. The same applies to amplifiers, subs and even music.
It's OK to like something and it should be OK to like it without people jumping on you for making a statement about what you like. We are all different from the color of our hair to the color of our eyes, our height, weight, etc.. These are the things that make us human, embrace the differences and enjoy what you like.
As for me, I have a monster Tekton Pendragon Center that is 31" wide and 15" high and my surrounds are 20" tall, 15" wide and 9" deep but dang does it sound AWESOME!

As much as I want to move to the DI or even 1812, I find it hard to consider letting go of the Pens. I really like them that much. I also have a pair of custom near field speakers - and its way better than any other that I have heard.
At least 5 of my friends have bought Tekton speakers after hearing to my set up.
I am in North Dallas - anybody wants to have a listen, feel free to ping me.
