Saw the movie tonight, and was disappointed much the same way after the Force Awakens. Yes there are some good scenes but in general the story line is quite poor with bad characters. I just don’t get what Disney is trying to do. Just my opinion from a life long Star Wars fan.

Odd. Apparently audiences aren’t liking it as much as the critics. Rotten Tomatoes has a Critics Consensus of 93% positive, but only 57% for the Audience. Usually it’s the other way around.

Heres a dumb question , which of all of the starwars movies are relevant to the basic story line. I have seen a return of the jedi but i dont think i have seen any others . I want to watch the relevant movies in a systematic order, possibly the MACHETE order while im off over christmas

IV A New Hope V The Empire Strikes Back VI Return of the Jedi VII The Force Awakens That should catch you up to the movie in theaters now, I, II and III are really just backstory to IV. |

Not a Star War geek, I liked the intro long fight scene, the story line was easier to follow, it had a touch of humor, brought back old characters. My favorite of the Star Wars movies

IMHO,
It was a good, but not great. Very enjoyable. If you think you are walking into the best movie ever, you may be disappointed. Empire Strikes Back is still the best Star Wars ever. This movie had a very different feel than the others.

I would have not wanted a "gloom and doom" movie, but I think it was overdone. |

I don't know how old the people that have given opinions are, but I will watch it this coming weekend with a very open mind, not looking to put it on a pedestal or knock it down.....what I mean by not knowing how old some people are is how old they were when the original came out, it makes a difference. ....those that are old enough know what I'm talking about. ....
