This is the end of the beginning for me lol!
One of the first Jason Bourne trilogies that came out was a Harmon Kardon HD DVD special that was given to me over 10 years ago and since I don’t have that HD player, I was never able to watch these. Coincidentally a friend of Mine had the Harmon Player and I gave the discs to him so fast forward to the here and now the ”Bourne” series is up to five movies and I never really saw any of them so here we go lol first victim was last night

The Fellowship of the Ring. Stunning picture quality on the new G3. Quite an audio experience, too.

Re-watched part 1 last night for a refresher. I consider part 2 to be of video reference quality and even more so audio-wise. Use of the heights were enveloping in aerial/flight scenes and the LFE has some the best depth I've heard on physical media.

I have to say that I haven't been impressed by most of the recent Godzilla remakes... But I really thought that Godzilla Minus 1 was well-done.

I like that they got away from the whole Godzilla benevolent , balance the equation thing from the previous films…… Just eating ships and stepping on people the way any good Godzilla should lol. Only thing that put a damper on the flick was that kamikaze pilot Actor (Too much crying and whimpering from that guy) put a damper on the flick

I still have my original DVD copy of this flick and the picture sound are excellent…… Wouldn’t bother with Blu-ray on it since the 1992 special effects are too campy but fun.

Nice trailer. I like the character development. The low production cost is amazing. I'll look for this on 4K when available. I have no interest in the other Godzilla movies.

I need to revisit this film as an adult…… My older brother took me to the theater when I was a kid to see this and I was so young frankly I didn’t know what I was watching. My brother was a nut for those plastic army men and building pretend battle scenes in the backyard. How things have changed! As an adult, my brother traveled just two weeks ago to Normandy and France to visit some of these places from an adult perspective.

Anyone who’s a Godzilla fan could hear there was an homage To the original “oxygen destroyer” film from the late 50s with Raymond, Burr, and that was the music in the end credits from the same.

"oxygen destroyer" - I had to look that up. www.quora.com/How-did-Dr-Serizawa-know-about-the-oxygen-destroyer-in-the-1954-film-GodzillaI have met a few people with atomic breath... A Waterpik™ would fix that.

Actually, the movie is pretty accurate except for some of the made-up lines to accommodate big actor egos. (John Wayne was especially John Wayne-ish). I think I'll try "Twelve O'Clock High" tonight.

This was based on a true story with actual monster footage used in the making of the movie.

I WAS….. Gonna say something, but at the end of that clip, Bob Hope stole my thunder. (You see how I didn’t touch the third rail lol)

I never quite got why Serizawa took his own life….. Though both he and Godzilla met the same fate at the end with a lack of oxygen Lol

I believe that Serizawa considered his oxygen destroyer to be "too terrible to fall into the wrong hands... or ANY human hands"... I've always assumed that he had somehow kept the way it was manufactured or produced a secret... or believed that he had. So, by killing himself, he "killed the only person who knew how to make it"... (That way he could be sure that he would never be convinced to disclose that secret to anyone else.) I seem to recall, in the original, some dialog that suggested that he had regretted discovering it... As I recall, he had planned to keep it a secret, but a certain young lady, who he showed it to, told the military folks about it... And that, even after agreeing to produce it to kill Godzilla, he was conflicted about doing so... And really preferred to die rather than to risk being convinced to do so again... This was back in the time when a lot of people actually thought that some weapons, like the atomic bomb, were based on secrets known or understood by one or two people. And so that they actually could be "gotten rid of" if the one or two people who "knew the secret" died. And "took the terrible secret to the grave with them". This motif shows up in several science fiction stories written soon after WW II. I never quite got why Serizawa took his own life….. Though both he and Godzilla met the same fate at the end with a lack of oxygen Lol
