While it would be nice to have the UMC-1 in the database...
I have no problem manually programming my Harmony One. It only takes about 15 minutes and gives me a chance to understand all of the remotes functions.

You can't tell Harmony to press input 13 times and then remember where it is at and pres input 5 times.

Well if pick UMC-1 under Emotive Audio Harmony asks if you have the remote so you can teach it the generic commands. If it was really in their database it would not ask you for the remote. If you answer no I do not have the remote it says we found a device that is close to it (Emotive Audio Erato) whatever that is.. www.nataudio.com/Download/Sept%20Web%20Previews.pdf -

MY UMC-1 won't go into the rack if there is not Harmony codes. I simply refuse to deal with WAF issues that large.

Now I know what it is and that there is another company called Emotive Audio Yeah... I looked at that site... Wow!!! That stuff is uber expensive. If anyone wants a tube amp that will blow an Emotive out of the water... I'll build you one for less than half of what they want for a preamp. ;D

While at EmoFest, I believe Big Dan showed us that you can make only those inputs that are being used, active. Say you have three sources, ie:Blu-Ray, cable/satellite box, game console, then you only have to scroll through those three inputs. To me thats not a big deal, but I can understand why others may not like it.

Plus as mentioned there are no discrete input commands which would be a no go for me as well. With the quality of the UMC-1s remote it is a no brainer to use a universal remote. With Harmony being one of the biggest universal remote companies out there it will be a huge gaff on Emotiva's part to not have the codes in place when the UMC-1 is released. I do not feel that Emotiva is too small a company for Harmony to deal with. Has to be some other reason for no response from Harmony. Bill

Wait, did I miss something?
Does the UMC not have discrete input codes?

There are no buttons on the remote for discrete codes. The assumption is that the codes will be available through other means. (Harmony, pronto hex files, etc)

I'm guessing the codes are not on the Harmony site anymore because they used the wrong company for the UMC-1 and it was pulled. I'm sure they will be back up soon.

All the talk is about Logitech but some of us use other products like URC. I used the "contact us" link at URC's website to ask about them adding the UMC-1 but no word yet.

Having worked with Logitech, URC, RTI, Philips, & UEI as a distributor, I'd say there's a good chance that Emotiva has made no gaffe here. The cats at Logitech keep real busy working on their code database, as products are constantly changing (they are known to take a while to respond). TV's from any manufacturer will usually be their highest priority, followed by set-top boxes & disc players, then AVR's & processors (followed by many more categories). Since Emotiva is not the biggest name in the mainstream, they are probably not the highest priority in that group. That being said, I'm sure they'll get there, probably uploaded with a bunch of other additions to the Harmony database.
Oh, and go ahead and make those requests to Logitech - they really do get your requested component to a higher level of priority.

With the Sherbourn PT-7020 looking to be a UMC-1 clone, I wonder if the discrete codes for the Sherbourn will be identical/work for the UMC-1???

I would not think Sherbourn is a larger company than Emotiva but you never know . So I would be surprised if the 7020 remote codes went into the Harmony database before the UMC-1s codes. I just looked on the Sherbourn site and there are no images of the 7020s remote. I wonder if the remote has direct access input buttons? Bill

I spoke with Lonnie early today and I hope he doesn't mind me mentioning it but he told me they are getting this taken care of.

Bill OK Maybe not 15 min's but from the picture I saw of the remote there's only about 10 buttons on it.
