I suspect there are a lot of things that maybe "don't take quite right" until shutdown. Otherwise I am at a loss as to why things get written during shutdown at all - unless it is to save write cycles on the flash, but then if everything is written every shutdown it would reduce the life of the flash and shutdown should be faster if there is nothing to write (no changes made) I would think.

Hello everyone. I have added the V7.4 to the form. As the Software stablilizes I hope most of our reports will now be on requests for future enhancements that may be UMC-2 or XMC. As usual thank you all for supporting this thread and form application.
As a reminder the Form application and reports are on page one of this thread.
regards,
Reg

The UMC-1 will not lock onto the audio in movies that are in DTS-HD High Resolution. Examples: The "Life" series blu-rays narrated by David Attenborough, and many of the older Lion's Gate studio movies such as American Psycho, Stargate, Fifth Element, Jumper and Home. The newer re-issued versions of some of these have DTS-HD MA which work fine, so this issue with DTS-HD HR(High Resolution) should be considered a minor issue in my opinion. The work around for this minor problem is to set the Blu-Ray player to LPCM, instead of Bitstream. Thanks Dan & Lonnie and Crew

I have the UMC too but have not had to log any problems and have been fortunate. I am looking forward to the firmware upgrade when I get back home next weekend.

I thought the latest two versions of the firmware were 7.02 & 7.04, not 7.2 & 7.4? Could we have the correct numbering please?
Just had another look on the UMC-1 firmware page and they use 7.4! Jeez.

Screw Sony! Had full audio drop out a few times last weekend with Hi-res audio from a BD while using the PS 3. This is the first time I have had that happen with the PS 3 for the last couple of firmware versions. Bummer. Maybe I'll go back to 7.05.

I am also having problems with my HD DVD player locoking on to DD+. This did not happen with previous firmware. I reloaded the new firmware and still the same thing. Picture but no sound. going through source gets the sound back on. I hope they will resolve this.

I would recommend to all of us that are having issues with our HD-DVD players and DD+, in general, also email or call Tech Support directly. There is no guarantee that anyone from Emotiva sees and/or logs issues from this thread or form.
I also have the same issue and, as has been stated, this is new to this firmware. Never had a problem with any previous incarnations.....

Hello Friends! Here is our UMC Feature and Issue Tracker solution. Please help us collect your issues and requests for the UMC product by using the input form. This will make it easy on all of us to see in one central repository all the needs from the UMC customer base. This will only work with your support and thank you for your consideration. Please press the access icon to open the UMC Tracker Input Form. Once you fill it out please press the submit button. Once you have entered your issue or new feature request you can view all entries by pressing the UMC Tracker View All Entries icon. The master database spreadsheet is secure and can be accessed by Emotiva to add their comments. All entries are immediately viewable. Emotiva can sort the data in several ways for us. I hope this will make our ability to share and view our constructive commentaries on the UMC-1 much easier for everyone. Thanks I updated the theme and added the v07.00.19 Firmware so we can track and then let Eric know it is there for his reference. I can add other options just let me know or add more values to a picklist et cetera. I made a copy of the old problems and the report will start with new ones. Since this was a rewrite of the code it makes sense in my view to start with V07.00.19 as the new baseline. As always thanks for your support.

Well, it looks like I will sit out this particular version and wait for the fixes to it. I am quite happy with the performance currently using the last rev of the software before this new update.
I've been doing software development a LONG time, and I've learned to *never* use the first rev of anyone's code. And, since they said this was a *complete* re-write from scratch, it goes in my book as the first rev of the software.
Remember folks, it's easy to tell who the the pioneers are - they're the ones with arrows in their backs...

The music clarity improvement is really nice (I think we say this every version!). If a new one can be turned around quickly I would agree that you should probably wait for it.

I was under the impression this was supposed to be the final revision for the UMC-1. Is that incorrect?

After seeing all the posts I am a little hesitant about doing the upgrade. The only problem I currently have is that the UMC is not locking onto channels quick enough. If you don't let the sound come up going between two different stations I have complete audio loss and have to turn off the power and turn it back on again.
If I let it lock on and hear sound there is never a problem. I can live with this for now, Boy do I take a chance an upgrade only to get a different problem ?
