I'm looking at four. But basically all the flagship or near flagship OLEDs. The C1 is probably going to be the last on my list. But if I look at it and go, there's really barely any difference between that and my top choice, I may consider it. And it's very possible because currently the brightness values aren't crazy different in calibrated mode between the flagships and the C1. Right now my top contenders is the A90 J probably because the cost will be low when I am ready to buy. However, I'm also interested in the new RGB oleds was it the (QD-OLED)? If those new OLEDs have better color, then it may push it to the top. However, my requirement will be that it has to be in the 80-ish inch range. And the a95k flagship maxes out at 65 inches. www.flatpanelshd.com/focus.php?subaction=showfull&id=1643099190This article makes my choice even more confusing. As you can see vivid mode shows clear differences between the a95k and the a90j sony's. But since I won't watch in vivid mode, I was more interested in the calibrated mode. And they reported seeing barely perceptible differences. So it makes my choice a little tougher. Because the only way to really see what it's going to be like is to see it in my own home calibrated and that would require me getting two 83 inch tv's setup - something that I don't care to do. So will probably see it in showroom conditions under non-ideal conditions and make a semi-blind leap of faith.

You do know that the QD-OLED Sony A95K models will only be offered in 55 and 65, and it looks like they will be $3000 and $4000 respectively....................and I definitely agree with you on the calibration brightness between the different models are for the most part imperceptible. My calibrator has experience with all of the current OLEDs and their actual measurements on NIT levels. As you already know, VIVID mode isn't a mode that AV purists watches since it's accuracy is way off the D65 white point, so not a good comparison amongst OLED flat panels. electronics.sony.com/tv-video/televisions/all-tvs/p/xr55a95k

Garbulky - it’s going on almost 11 months now; you’re overthinking this. Just get the set with the features you like. The difference in picture quality amongst the sets you’re looking at are negligible if any.

But when I do, I usually make it last

I have no intention of watching in Vivid mode, only some form of "accurate" mode. The a95k's pricing is steep for sure. If the 83 inch version is about 8k or so, I may be able to swing it. But now that there are so many excellent models at thousands less at the size I want, it is getting hard to justify shelling out the dough.

2021 Sony Bravia XR processor flat panel owners(A80J/A90J/Z9J/X85J/X90J/X95J) if you haven’t been prompted by your panel yet, check now as the long anticipated firmware/software to add VRR support is now available. If you’re a gamer, your wait is over. However, the PS5 has not yet been updated, update supposedly due out this month.
