I received my 103 this morning after I called FedEx and had the driver meet me before he started his day. The two FedEx drivers in my area are the best ! I setup the 103 in about 15 minutes and I'm happy to say it is a nice improvement over the 83SE. The build quality as always is great with a much better and quieter disc loader/draw than the 83SE. I played a bunch of MCH SACDs and they all sounded excellent. I did a quick comparison between HDMI (w/Audyssey XT32) and the 5.1 analog output. The 5.1 analog output sounded great but I much prefer the SQ with XT32. The loading speed for the one Bluray I tried (The Island) was very quick much faster than the 83SE. At this time I do not do any streaming so I can't offer any information on that performance. I also like the fact that the 103 does not have a fan. The fan on the 83SE would come on every now and then which was audible from where I sit. So I think anyone looking for a well built and feature packed universal player should definitely consider the 103 . Bill Hey Buddy ;D Congrats on your new edition to your system I bet you're having a ball feeding the Oppo a steady diet of Hi Rez music.. Enjoy your new toy Dan

The first of the new 836V speakers arrived yesterday afternoon. The box is a little worse for the wear, but the speaker seems immaculate. I will send the box back on the third leg of the journey today after picking my offspring up from school. I would reenforce the hell out of those boxes, even go as far as duct taping the entire box, just to make sure nothing goes wrong... Good luck Dan

Not all microfiber is created the same. Buy a high quality microfiber that is designed to not scratch paint. They are pricier than your standard cheap microfiber, but it's worth it. A cheap/simple way to check if your towel is going to cause damage to any soft surfaces such plastic/paint, is to do the CD test. Take a CD that you don't care about (CR-R are cheap) and use similar pressure that you would use on the surface you're trying to clean and rub the surface of the CD. If it scratches the disc, it's not the towel for the job. Addition: Also when buying the more expensive microfiber cloths, be sure to take care of them properly. This means washing separately with extra rinse cycles in the washer, and only air dry with no dryer sheets. As far as cleaning solutions, simple water will work if the surface isn't really dirty. Thanks for the great advice Cheers Dan

Nice, very nice..Love the TT.
Speaking off. How do you guys clean your dust covers? I usually dust mine with a swifter type, so I can do as less swirl/ clouding damage as possible. But I notice some water marks drop size stains which I'm tempted to grab a micro fiber towel but I do want those ugly cloudy, and swirls. Is there any type of solutions to avoid the above marks?
Thanks
Dan

I would opt for what I can get today instead of what I can hope for tomorrow, th XMC-1 might arrive with unforeseen oddities.
Beside, if later you decide and go with XMC, using what ever you have on hand can give you a good stand on comparison thus acquiring some useful tools in this hobby.
Just saying

There is something supremely beautiful about a 30-pound transformer for those of us who appreciate their brutality. As long as you have enough ice packs for the boys and your back of course when moving the amps. Djoel

If you understand 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) completely, we failed. We wanted to raise far more questions than we have answered.
Great quote Author C. Clark , which should can be implied to this movie, even though it has it's flaws.

What kind of store do you run? about 18 yrs ago I quit my job and bought my first home , I sold apple laptops and toughbooks online for 5 yrs . I then opened a computer shop and sold new and used computers for 7 yrs till the landlord sold the building without asking me if I wanted to purchase it ,so I was in a jam and one of my customers had a building for sale so I bought it . I was going to do a complete remodel of the store but the city gave me a hard time a very hard time so I could only do so much paint drop ceiling etc , so I hated the new shop for the last 6 yrs and couldn't stand the site of it and it made me depressed to go to the shop . So I ended up locking the doors to the public I'm really " burnt out " and cant stand dealing with the public so now I decided to sell the building and my first home also . I'm going to go back to selling toughbooks and parts , I purchase them by the skid load and refurbish them 6 yrs ago I purchased a 1/2 of semi load of apple laptops and did real good but those deals just don't pop up everyday . Oh I was going to open a pawn shop but the city had to many I got turned down ;D WOW that's great you are you're own boss...Hope you're as successful at what ever it is you'll do next. Dan

Watched it over the weekend and I thought it was great, there is allot of nit picking about some things going on over a few forums, but I enjoyed it immensely. Saw it on 3D IMAX here in NYC, and it was jaw dropping beautiful, I would love to see it again..For those who said it was too slow of pace I thought it went by like blink on an eye. I'm hopping the a sequel Oh one more thing, I believe Scott R said him self this wasn't a prequel per say, it was more story of the creators of Xenomorphs. I'm guessing he said that so folks wont come out of the theaters pissing and wanting a Predators Vs Alien type flick..I'm for one it wasn't one, does make me sick. Djoel
