How are guys doing with multiples of these, meaning turning them on&off not sure I want more power strips behind my rack than what I already have!

I read of plenty of self taught folks programming these URC remotes so it can be done with some persistence and will, what I can't answer is to what extent would it control your devices in either RF or IR your system.
I took a gander just a few month ago with the MX-890???(Can't recall the model number) the software was over my head, I've might have had some compatibility issues with my PC as I could not get pass connecting CCP software, and URC website! I got lots of help, and it sounded straight forward as to what to do, but sadly I gave up on the remote unit.
I'm not good at tech stuff but I do agree with your Harmony statement, I have 650 Harmony I'm not 100% happy with mine but tolerated them for the sake of having a unit that can run my system.
I really wish there was a more easier way to control these URC, ironically I purchased a simple URC the RM 50 . I've yet to open the box as I'm a little hesitant to deal with the emotions that come with these this, and just simply getting frustrated, hell I have my job that does that well enough.
Will be visiting and seeing any progress

I did at one point, I had Mythos ST & Mythos 1 for rear, and Mythos 10 for a center..I wasn't happy with the highs, so I've moved on.

Question, a little off topic but it got me thinking with all this password talk, and the XMC-1 using OS Linux can someone use something like Teamview or splashtop type remote viewing of the XMC-1 Dirac workings? Thinking it over probably can be done via pc/mac as well, hmm.. Djoel I hate to quote myself but from the pod cast it seem where going to get a Teamview type feature which is awesome for use less than capable to run ceratin things with our gear  Djoel |

Huge fan of Mark Walpred own some of his recording and they sound fantastic. I also own sacd decades before 1996 and i swear they sound amazing as well. The heart wants what it wants.

There's a guy over at AVS in the Xmc-1 owners thread who claims he's been given FW 3.1 from Emotiva for some issue he was having, haven't read his post so I don't know what the issue he's encountered evidently he's quite happy with his unit, and seems to like over his Foundation. This is the second Krell owner I think who loves the Emo over the Foundation.
Here's to seeing the 3.1 before the end of the month.

Yup, I've called Oppo about their first Blu ray player when all the HDDVD fiasco was going on, they sorta said they did not have a time line yet or even thought of making a HD player. 8 months later it was announced they had a player coming to the market.
I also called just a few months ago asking some random questions,and through in during the conversation when do they'll think we'll see a 4K player they said perhaps late last quarter of 16, but from the pause in his voice he made it sound like they're weren't all that interested in a 4K player.
I think this is the apporch Emotiva is taking these day, being coy like this no one gets their feelings hurt!

Hmm, what do you mean they don't take 40% cards anymore?
This is new to me, perhaps they said they're not giving 40% cards no longer, and yes from my understanding Bmoney is correct.The 25% U4L ended on the 1st of May.

Well I would say if you're stuck in the dark ages like me playing shinny Sacd, dvd-a discs and your system is builded around music listening and have the cash laying around, then i woukd try to get a good deal on a used one, or call Oppo to see if they have refurbished unit.
Oh i just popped in a standard dvd, snd it looked amazing on my 64" pdp, the upscaling properties on this device is jaw dropping.

I read a comment else where that this new ATV is basically a Roku2 with a few features. I guess they mean processing power and such.
I haven't read the specs yet, so I don't know. Anyone can post this info?

Buy the XSP-1 if your 2 channel man, you wont regret it one bit. I had the XSP-1G2 and I was amazed buy the purely, unsaturated neutral sound, and I've owned sub 5K 2 Channels pre amps myself, Modwright, Bell Audio, Parasound, Cary, to name a few.
What would be great if Emo comes out with a XSP-1 with Dirac, now that would be awesome.

Why do they make these routers with only 4 rj45 ports? I need one for my blu ray player, one for my apple tv, one for my tv, one for my htpc, my tivo even thou I have a wireless dongle thingy but still if I had an iffy connection I would need one for it too, hmm I don't think my XMC has one connection to it  . My roku is wireless as well which should be the norm with these media streamers by the way! I know I'n getting off topic here, but why can't we charge these items with hdmi wires!!!!  Rant over Dan |

THIS! is my biggest issue the popping, static clicks! The other would be the flickering osd on my screen, the XMC doesn't have to be one which is puzzling, but it happens!  Djoel Popping??? Is it ticking and crackling too??? Are you sure it's not analog??,,,,,he,,,,he,,,,he,,,,,, Sadly I don't have any analog units any more: No ticking, just popping and static clicks, and the darn screen flickering! That's my only complains for my unit, will be golden once they're gone! Dan |
